Re: 2004 R1150R Fuel Leak Unique Situation?

It has been a while since I played around with the R1150R, but I DID have leaking fuel lines by the QDs and it was leaking out onto my right toe/footpeg area, NOT back on the center stand. Without seeing it and just based on info you have posted here I would go with AZBMWRIDER from a few posts back....

Re: Beakster Bash "Sweet" 16!! - Franklin WV 5/15-5/19

I had a great time seeing everyone again and riding those "perfect" roads. My ability to ride 900 miles to a Bash has sadly gone away, but I have plans in the works to use alternate methods to transport me and my bike those distances in the future. I rode the 950 miles home in 2 days and i...

Re: Budget for Riding Season

Its not just gas that you have to budget for. You have motel or camping fees. Tires. Food and drink on the road. Tolls and possible tickets. Oil changes. It can run over a grand or more for a complete very active riding season. I think about it like it the expense of a vacation. A vacation just for ...

Re: Old Fourm members

Back in the fall of 2002 I had just bought a 2003 R1150R and was checking out web forums which was a fairly new and exciting concept then. I ran across this fellow on a Harley forum. Patrick! He suggested I come over to R1150R.org so I did. My bike was traded at 80 some odd thousand miles in 2009 fo...

I just made my reservation. Got the last "single" room available. I should be arriving on Thursday in the afternoon sometime. Lil Chubb is happy now! :?

Re: Hungry Mother Ride 2018, Marion, Va

I have one campsite reserved and I REALLY hope I am able to make it up there when the time comes. I love that place! Too bad about the Appletree. We'll need to find another "go-to" breakfast location. :-k

Take it to a BMW motorcycle mechanic. It's basic stuff but you'll never get it right following directions from an internet forum.

Re: F650GS Twin Stalling

I haven't been riding much since I made my move to south Alabama, but I DID make a long ride a couple months ago up to Kickstand lodge with a few friends. I believe it was actually over that total eclipse weekend. Put about a thousand miles on over the weekend. Anyway, the unknown stalling issue per...

Re: F650GS Twin Stalling

Update on the stalling issue. I took everything back off the bike to remove and inspect the air box reassembly that the mechanic's inept helper attempted to put together. He had left off a couple of parts and really mixed up the oem screws and such. I had to replace the o-ring in the crankcase vent ...

Re: Mike Camellitti (MikeCam) is MISSING in WV Forest

This popped up in my news feed at Facebook today as one of my memories. We were just discussing this visit last weekend at Hungry Mother as we reminisced about Mike while sipping brandy under a tarp as it rained. http://slablog.net/blog/wp-content/uploads/photo-gallery/Motorcycling/OddsAndEnds/mikec...

Brian, I didn't get to visit with you and your Dad near enough, but I did get a few pics over the weekend. Here they are in my slideshow format. Enjoy.

Re: Valve lash adjustment

Never heard of that. Can you get a close-up photo of that? I can't imagine it was not serviced before 10,000 miles. Then I also cannot imagine a 2002 model with so few miles. Post a pic.

Re: F650GS Twin Stalling

I took it to Paul's Garage in Dallas. Nice guy with a family and a daughter who is undergoing cancer treatments at Egleston. He has a good reputation and used to work for BMW Atlanta as one of their techs. When they let him go he opened his own shop. I just didn't feel confident to tackle the camsha...

Re: F650GS Twin Stalling

Yeas it has happened before. When the bike was relatively brand new, it did it a few times then no more. Last year it stalled inexplicably after making a turn and accelerating, in the rain. That was, more than likely, a different issue, same symtom. But it has not stalled repeatedly like this for a ...

F650GS Twin Stalling

Last week I had my Lil Chubb in a local motorcycle repair shop to have valves adjusted/shimmed and when I picked it up on the ride home it stalled about 6 times when I slowed in traffic or at a light. Yesterday I took her out again to check it and I was able to make a stall happeb at a stop sign and...

Re: Always have to use "choke" on cold start

It's not a choke. ....And for the poster who has stopped using yours because it is sticky. You just need to take it apart and clean it good. But be VERY careful not to lose the little spring...which resembles a ball point pen spring.

Re: uneven front tire wear -bearings?

Mac, also I've noticed that in NC they put a lot of really abrasive stuff in the asphalt mix and tires wear a lot faster on those roads. That's why I ride REALLY fast across NC to get to Virginia and West "By God" Virginia.
