Re: Went to the dark side...or blue one in my case

Why can't I stick one of those fairings on my R What was OTD cost for her?? She is beautiful $26650. Keep in mind I got the electrically integrated top case complete with LED brake light and the GPS. The bike by itself is $24000ish OTD. The windshield was one of my biggest gripes with the R. Oh yea...

Re: Went to the dark side...or blue one in my case

My wallet is fairly sure it did happen! With windshield at its lowest I get a fair amount of non buffeting helmet air. A quick torso tilt gives a dose of chest air. I spent 2 hours in heavy traffic and 100 degree heat and it really wasn't that bad. http://i842.photobucket.com/albums/zz345/daveyator2...

Went to the dark side...or blue one in my case

Well I haven't posted in a while but still love this forum. After my third R12R I finally got the bike I always ogled from afar as opposed to the minimalist bike I've always had my whole life. My new mistress is a San Marino blue 2015 R1200RT with all the trimmings. I've had the damn thing a day and...

Re: Fuel Strip finally addressed by BMW..sort of

I had no problems with my '07 and I have had no problems with my '11. My wife says I'm Charley Brown so it'll probably wait until 12 yrs and one day and then fail!

Re: Bought a Schuberth

Be careful scooter. I just went through the C3 pro thinking the same thing but never got past the 1st hour without excruciating hot spots . I have an Arai oval head also but have resisted buying their helmets until now. The Signet-Q fits me better than any helmet I've ever had.

Re: Bought a Schuberth

Not trying to bash but I found the Schuberth C3 pro to be noisy and unfriendly on a number of fronts. Especially considering how much it cost and how much I lost getting rid of it. But keep in mind I'm a picky bastard also.

Re: BMW R1200 2009 VS BMW 2011 is it worth upgrading

I had a 2007. My 2011 is MAYBE a little better but I think I should have just kept my 2007. The difference is subtle IMHO.

Wifey got me her back rest in the form of the BMW top case and rack (Actually I'd been contemplating it for years for this bike and my old one so she finally pulled the trigger for me.).

Re: End of my unannounced hiatus

What a tirade. My '07 gave me ZERO problems and I regret selling it. The '11 is definitely more refined and the classic frankly looks better but if I had it to do over again I might have just stuck with the '07.

I debated for weeks between this and a new 90th anniversary edition. This ones looks and $4000 savings finally won out.

End of my unannounced hiatus

Hey guys. As nobody probably noticed I haven't been on here in almost a year. I lost my head and sold my '07 R12R just after last Xmas. That lasted until yesterday when I picked up my new to me '11 R12R Classic. Just saying "hey" again. What'd I miss? lol! Oh yea a tall comfort seat is on ...

Re: 2nd. BMW Battery Failure

Well.......during the Cee Bailey windshield testing, Joe informed me my my battery finally died. He had it replaced with another "battery" that appears to be similar to a BMW issue battery by a BMW shop. The label is gone so I don't EXACTLY know what battery it is. Occasionally when pressi...

Being the Cee Bailey guinea pig guy I have to say now I don't like it so much in fact it's been off my bike for months. I fluctuate now between the CB sport and the BMW touring. I too am 5'11". Sorry Joe (CB Joe)
