Re: Brake failure - help or advice please

here's the answer...and I feel almost as stupid as I did a few hours ago when I dropped her... I called TrophyMoto here in Greenville and spoke to Troy who gave me the fix for free. I have the GS handgrips on my bike and he knew right away that it shifted position when I dropped the bike, causing th...

Brake failure - help or advice please

Ok, so I just did the super embarrassing low low speed dump in a parking lot. Came to a stop on an angle, got indecisive about which way to go, and slowly tipped over onto my right side. The good: NO ONE saw me. I was able to pick the bike up no problem. No visible damage. All seemed fine. The bad: ...

Re: Riding in North Georgia, Southern TN, NC, Western SC

I would love to, but I work saturdays and sundays. I am out here working at a summer camp teaching woodshop. Wednesdays are my only days off. I know that its tough, but hey, I took a shot. Was thinking of running up through Franklin then to Highland on the 64...riding under that waterfall and stuff....

Riding in North Georgia, Southern TN, NC, Western SC

hi all, so I am back here in Rabun County Georgia for the summer. But this time I brought my bike!!!!!!!!! I've been working a lot since I got here so haven't had the chance to do any really long rides, but I have been having fun zipping around fairly locally. Its last minute, but I just found out I...

Re: cover advice

Thanks Roy,

Considering you are way up there in the great white north, I figure my bike should be safe for just 2 months in a Georgia summer.

Re: Modifying system case rails for GIVI Monolock box?

I hear ya Steve...but do the math...$350 for the case, $175 for the mount, $75 for the backrest = $600!!! I don't get it, when they have perfectly great looking cases in the monolock line, but they won't mount to our bikes. hence my thought about making my own luggage rack, attaching it to the syste...

Modifying system case rails for GIVI Monolock box?

Hi all, I am wanting to put a top box on my bike...mostly to have a backrest for a passenger...but it's also good to have extra storage. I've been looking at the GIVI boxes of course and it seems that the monokey boxes require that mounting bracket for an extra $180. That, a box, and a backrest pad ...

Re: Californian Coming to the Blue Ridge Mountains for the s

thanks for all the great advice. I am just outside of Clayton, GA. Have been here for a couple of weeks getting settled into camp and the routine. It seems that Wednesdays are my days off, which seem ideal for riding the beautiful roads without the weekender tourist traffic. There is no rental in Cl...

Re: Californian Coming to the Blue Ridge Mountains for the s

I totally struggled with the idea of riding out. The problem is time. I am on a really tight schedule. I figure it would take me a good 5 days to ride out and 5 to ride back. That's 2 weeks that I don't have. My wife is already being an AMAZINGLY supportive sport as it is with me going away to work ...

My life got very intense with business, marriage, kids, etc. You know, the little things that can get in the way of riding. 3 Front Brake related questions

on 2002 R1150R ABS Just changed out the front brake pads. 1. The right side set of pads seems to have worn much faster than the left side. Is this normal? 2. Now that they are changed, when I rotate the front wheel there seems to be a lot of friction from the pads on the rotor. The pads themselves a...

Rubber Protectors for System Case Covers?

Hi, mine are all beat up and cracked (partially due to lane splitting in Los Angeles traffic). does anyone know the part number for them? can you get just the rubber protectors for the case covers, or do you need to replace the entire cover? Suggestions as to where to purchase?

Thanks.

ABS Failure - help please

hi, Long time no post. I have an '02 R with abs. Rode to work today no problem. When I started her up to ride home, the brake light on the dash was blinking red and I had no power to the abs. A bit scary riding home like that with no brake power. yeah, I know I probably shouldn't have ridden it. Doe...
