Re: Oil leak diagnosis challenge!
Just a thought but also check the rear brake system in case there is a split pipe or it is weeping from the reservoir?

Re: Surge shows up
I am currently experiencing a similar issue but not as bad as in the video - I have a twin spark and I reckon it is the coil up under the fuel tank feeding the lower set of plugs (I have replaced the stick coils several times and I am currently running Beru ones). I have not changed the coil as yet ...

Re: New Suspension
Oooh Shiny!
I have a replacement Hagon shock on my R80ST and that made a huge difference to the old girl (66k miles) - still on the original Showa's on my R1150R but she has only done 40k miles and there is plenty of life left at the moment.

Russ

@RadivcalR1150R, Motorworks are in the UK - here is a link to the Tokico pins (7th item in list - SSA38251) :- https://www.motorworks.co.uk/vlive/Shop/Parts.php?T=5&NU=15&M=30&Ct=HA&SbCt=BA_15_30_HA_32 And here is a link to the rear Brembo one (5th item in list - SSA30313): https://w...

Re: Retaining Pin Removal
The front retaining pins can be a pain as you cannot drift these out of the Tokico calipers (unless you drill out the retaining pin hole) - however I have just got some stainless steel replacement pins from Motorworks so hopefully these will not seize! The rear Brembo is far easier to work on! Regar...

Also check the cam tensioner (which is just above that bolt) and make sure that is tight too, just a thought.

Re: Out in the cold (well for the UK)
Photoguy,
The R1150R is surprisingly good in those conditions, the weight is low down so as long as you are moving its OK, the trouble is if you have to pick it up if you drop it!!!. I was going uphill in the video so that is why I lost traction a couple of times but it was controllable.

Out in the cold (well for the UK)
Me and my R1150R had a bit of a cold journey into work this morning (around -1 Celsius) - nothing like the cold you get over in some US states but it was worth a small video!

Re: Need new tires....what do you like?
I have a 180/55 - Pireilli Angel ST (previous to that a Michelin Road 5) on the rear of mine and I have had no issues. The Road 5 lasted 6000 miles before I had a puncture that split the rubber down to the cords!

Re: Pilot Road 3
I have been running Michelin Road 5's for around 3,000 miles - overall the tyres give good feedback especially in the wet and seem to wear well but they are expensive compared to the Road Pilot 4 - In the UK I can still get Road Pilot 2's so will be going back to them when I need to change. Re: Hand Guards
I had some GS hand guards on my '05. I went to the Motorcycle Show in Birmingham UK last year and when I returned to my bike in the 'Secure' bike park some thieving toerag had stole them! - at least they didn't take the bar end weights, just the guards - it must have been a GS owner, who else would ...
