Occasional 'backfire' on a closing throttle...any ideas?
My Rockster is std - pipes/exhaust. If I stay in 3rd or 4th gear and ride on 'revs' I am getting an occasional backfire on a closing throttle...has happened once or twice now. Is this normal? As the bike is std / fuel and pipe-wise this surprised me - has anyone else experiened this and cause...

Hi all. B.Careful out there.....was out and about on one of my bikes - not the Rockster but a Honda NT700AV....and I think I lost one of my 9-lives on the way home and am lucky to be writing this....near Corby (UK) a 'flagstone/boulder' fell off a 'lorry' and I hit it dead-on and 'vaulted' the stone...

Disconnects...any tips out there....
Hiya, Any tips with regard to the 'std' petrol pipe 'disconnects'. Took the tank off to look at the ABS unit (for when this goes...) and mainly to fit some Optimate/charging leads to the bike. The battery took (on an Optimate) about 11hrs before the condition now stays at 'green' - I wanted to fit t...

Re: New Owner....and a little worried, should I be?
Hi, Hope you enjoy the CW supplied bike. Mine has come from a non-franchised UK dealer - and I have mailed BMW Motorrad UK about the possibility of such a warranty, will wait to see what they say. I am following the ABS-ectomy thread with interest should a warranty not be available as an alternative...

Re: R1150R ABS-ectomy
Hi, I am trying to follow this, didn't quite follow the last post. Are you saying you can't use the switches from a non-ABS bike on the handle-bar and foot pedal lever ends? Out of curiosity when the hydraulics are changed and the brake lights - assuming this can be done - are there anyother ...

New Owner....and a little worried, should I be?
Hi I am in the UK and have just bought a 2003 Black/Orange Rockster which seemed a good price - around £3K with approx 20000miles. Seems to have been looked after and is coming from a dealer so does have some warranty. I am trading in my F650CS, which in some ways I suspect I will miss. ...but the a...
