If there ws a like button I would have hit it.

Re: Seats
Thx for posting. I bought what was advertised as a 'low' seat for my R on one of the forums only to find out that it was the same that was on the bike. Not disputing the info above, but when I was trying to find out exactly what I had, I thought I discovered that there were only 2 available...the '...

Re: Glad to see the site is back up
I'm happy to donate as well as I haven't in a long time. But, maybe it would be good to have a separate thread or a board wide sticky so that everybody can see the 'plan' aside from those that happen to stumble into this particular thread? as in some kind of organized discussion/response? also, than...

Re: Engine whirr/whine
Hey there- Just popping in to say that as far as I'm aware I don't have that kind of noise, at least not the I've ever noticed wearing a FF helmet. I always felt these engines had kind of a sewing machine whir to them (exhaust note aside). Maybe posting a video could be helpful for somebody to shed ...

Re: Clutch Slave Cylinder
Thx for posting that photo. That would make perfect sense to me except I guess I don't understand how the whole thing works. So, just trying to understand- presumably the 'piston' slides inside of this housing, it 'lives' in the piece that was removed to expose this housing. I'm wondering how does w...

Re: Remove ABS - Dual Banjo at the master cylinder?
If anyone wants to remove the ABS and utilize the OEM Junction for the front brake lines I have the custom copper tube “U-loop” with fittings. You can have it, mailed to anywhere USA. I replaced the Lines with 2004 SS braided OEM lines that came with a non ABS junction. If no one steps up I might t...

Re: Clutch Slave Cylinder
Thx for the input guys...very helpful. I think I'll start with a bleed and see what the fluid looks like before digging further into it. It's one of those things that in some circles this is discussed as a time bomb waiting to go off and take the clutch with it, and in some ways that makes sense to ...

Re: Clutch Slave Cylinder
I’ve reflected on proactive maintenance on this but decided to dig into it if/when there’s a hint of a problem... either dark/contamination of clutch fluid or noticing a related drivability problem. I think those would be early warning signals. FWIW- 130K miles and has not been a problem. Not sure ...

Re: Clutch Slave Cylinder
Thx Mr. Bee. This gives me something to dig into a little further. Hoping to avoid a situation and be ready for what I might encounter. This is a little premature as I'm trying to be proactive and get things in order before proceeding. Have you gotten into this item on your bike?

Clutch Slave Cylinder
I've been reading up on the slave cylinder for the clutch and have learned that without proper maintenance it could lead to a work of problems. Just the other day I discovered where it was and truthfully had given no thought to this at all, but it makes sense to me that after 17 years and 30k miles ...

Max's on line parts catalog shows some stickers are available. Not sure which color is the right one. Also, not inexpensive! $100 each side for the tank stickers.

Re: Forum Functioning ?
I'm still here as well and check in a few times a week. There seems to be much less traffic than in 'the old days' though, not sure if it's the age of the bikes or if there are alternatives places that people have drifted to. I'm a week or so away from doing my first valve adjustment on my bike. I'...
