Re: Rockster lighting
I went with PIAA hi power in the original headlite housings, then added PIAA 1100X down on the front calipers.

Curious why you don't do a "fly and ride". Or rent a van and go get it, I have done that in the past.

Re: Just bought a Rockster what do I need to know?
You may want to look into aux. lights if you plan to do a lot of nite riding, the headlights are pathetic. It may just be me, at 63 I don't see as good as in the past, but buying a set of PIAA 1100X, is one of the smarter thing I have done. Love my Rockster, only new bike I ever bought, replace the ...

Re: Mobil 1 Motorcycle Oil
Went from Dino oil at 10K to Mobil1, easily available from Wally-world, now started using Amsoil at 18K. The Amsoil published a report a while back on use in air-cooled Harleys, and they were seeing temperatures app. 20 degrees lower in daily use. Plus a guy I work with sells it, so its easy to get.

Actually, on my Rockster they do vibrate less than the factory mirrors. Don't really have a clue why, just much happier with the K mirrors.

Soliton, While my Rockster does everything better than my older airheads, I still miss my R80ST. For some reason it was my favorite, and I kick myself occasionally for selling it.

Re: Tyres:
I am using the Pirelli Angel ST, very good all around. The OEM Bridgestone were the original selling point, loved those after many years with /5, and /6's, the Rockster handles light years better than the old Beemers.

Re: Maintenance nightmare?
Welcome new guy, most anything you will need or want, parts, accessories, gear, etc. will come thru the "Advrider", web site sooner or later. I bought my Sargent seat, BMW jackets, boots, PIAA 100X driving lights, etc. Go sign on and register, it is a great resource. And for parts for your ...

I have the Pirelli Angels on now, not outstanding in any one area, but pretty good in every way, and less expensive that the Metz's.

Re: Should you buy iPhone?
Apple anything is more expensive when you buy it, however, I am one of the worlds biggest CHEAPO'S, and went into an Apple store last year and dared the cute little thing waiting on me to explain why Apple stuff is that much better. I now own an Iphpne4, a Macbok Pro, and got my wife an iPad for her...

Would love some info related to a better touring windshield for the Rockster. I have the BMW touring, and I am tired of all the buffeting and wind noise.

I'll be glad to take it, and add that data to my bike binder. I am a happy lady for information, especially the old printed variety. Let me know how much you need, I am in western Pa. so it doesn't have to go far.

Sorry didn't see those on your picture, yes they should help a great bit. I only meant that the normal headlights aren't that good in my opinion, but despite that issue, I love my Rockster.

Re: Rockster Headlights? FNG Question....
I have Piaa 1100X on the forks as at my age, 61, and eyesight the Rockster lights aren't nowhere near enough, piss poor really. The PIAA lights are wonderful, you may want to consider that also.
