Re: Lighting Upgrade Question

So they are for being seen, not for the rider to see with. Thank you, that's exactly what I was wondering.

Re: Lighting Upgrade Question

Thank you for sharing your opinion!

Do you find they help at night? I have always found my 08 R to have rather poor lighting at night, especially on the low beam.

Re: Lighting Upgrade Question

Any chance of a review or even maybe some photos of how effective the supplementary lighting is from the Weiser 2-in-1?

Re: Booster Plug

Before you buy that, make sure it's compatable with the CANbus wiring of the R1200 - lots of electronic farkels aren't and can cause (sometimes expensive) problems to the bike's electrical system... Or spend that money on something else and just ride with people who know how to ride . If someone ri...

Re: Higest vs lowest gas milage?

I average around 42-44MPG. I've seen it as low as 16-20 MPG in DC's stop(mostly) & go(sometimes) rush hour traffic, but that isn't really fair.

When mine is hard to open I push down a bit a couple of times on the thing that is supposed to flap up when it unlocks. usually no problem then.

Re: Music for my helmet

Pretty sure the standard small audio jack size is 1/8" and yes, the etymotics have the standard small sized audio plug. I've had a pair for a few years now for using on the subway.

Re: Question about fuel injection and timing

Jameson: I got the O-ring grip set from Excel Cycle Werkes (and found it extremely comfortable; I highly recommend this inexpensive farkle). It included about 66 O-rings, which I split between the 2 grips. After about a week, as the O-rings bedded in, I removed first one, then two O-rings from each...

Re: Question about fuel injection and timing

xprof,

I know this question is going to make people wonder how I can operate the clutch and the throttle at the same time, but what kind/size of o-ring would work for this?

Re: Recall on a range of BMW's incl the R12R

I have to admit... I am a little bit upset. I got no call from the dealer and no letter from BMW about this safety recall on my 2008 BMW R1200R.

maintenance questions

I apologize if this has been covered before, but I have a few questions. the first is how do you guys check the oil? I believe the manual says to check it after a short stop after a long ride. Could they be any more vague? When I check it this way, there usually does not seem to be any oil in the wi...

Re: Aftermarket Sidecases/Saddlebags for the R12R

I'll second everything said above. I have the OEM panniers and would highly recommend them. Definitely waterproof! Another nice thing is that they can be keyed to be the same as the ignition, and one less key is always a good thing.

Not sure if this is the same stuff as on the MOA, but I found Don's site here very informative:
