Re: GPS Power Source
For what it's worth...GPS & radar detectors need 12 volts to power up but the cigarette plug-in has a regulated voltage control in line to knock down the surge voltage at engine start up. The voltage out of the "plug in " is 5 volts...hard wirinig the device direct to the battery or a ...

Try a EZ_Detail brush...they come in small and large sizes . It's a tapered cone configuration built on a flexible wire center support with a robust soft protective end covering...the bristles are what I call a smashed-end nylon bristle, soft and non scratching. This brush gets into all of those har...

Re: Tire Pressurr
It would be great if a tire savy individual, tire rep, or a manufacture rep would educate us as how to determine the proper tire pressures for the tire your running. This past summer at the MOA rally I had a conversation with different tire reps...one company suggested the recomendation of the bike ...

This may shed some light on why things won't go...a service mgr. told me that anything below 11.8 volts, the computer [? processor } shuts the start system off...my dash lights a glow, looking normal but the bike wouldn't turn over...the sudden death had set in...a new battery fixed it. Better late than never... for those who store info for use latter on...11.8 volts is the shut down voltage ...any less the computer says to the system ,"not enough voltage to crank" damage to components may occur This was told to me by a service manager at the local BMW shop.[dash lights c...

Re: Air filter and spark plug change recommendation
Guys... try a pawn shop...go throgh there 3/8 drive sockets and extensions..less than $ 10.00 should get you in business. I found a S-K 4421 5/8 spark plug socket, it's 3 7/8 long and has a 7/8 outside diameter works great. Harbor freight sells wobble extensions, allowing for aprox. 8 t 10 degree def...

Re: Installing the Odyssey PC535 in the R1200R
In reply to the bending of the seat " hooks" , the best way to describe the minor alteration is that the tips that go into the seat pan didn't change position only the hooked turned down portion of the hook was tipped up. A better way to say it , the rounded end of the hook was positioned ...

Re: Potential problem
Riding in the rain is a problem, water everywhere. A thought...after a washing to bring your steed back to its beauty try using a leaf blower to dry it off, pay particular attention as the air stream passes over the filler cap...water comes out of the space between the filler cap and tank, lots of i...

Re: Installing the Odyssey PC535 in the R1200R
I have recently installed a PC 625...no case modification but iI did modify the positive terminal...The PC 625 has better specs,as I read them, the difference in the PC625 vs the PC535 is the height, about 3/4 of an inch taller There is plenty of seat base clearence although one needs to slightly mo...

Re: Air Filters?
If ypu opt to blow out the filter use low air pressure, as the gentleman before me pointed out one can rupture the filter paper... low air pressure: 30 lbs max. Remember a necked down blowgun can up the velocity of the air...30 psi line pressure out of a fairly opened bkowgon should work. Stihl chai...

system volt meter vs batt. sudden death

A volt meter placed across the battery terminals?...or ...your suggestions as to the optimum meter placement would be appreciated With the long distant rides ahea...
