Re: running on one pot - advice required
Is the right throttle cable housing seated properly in the adjustment screw? It is very common for it to get displaced when working near it.

Re: I did a big no no Sunday evening
Before you adjust anything else look at step 5 in the zero-zero instructions. Don't adjust the TPS just check the voltage and see if what you did changed it. If it is between .370 and .400 VDC you are fine. If not adjust the left throttle stop screw until it is.

It sounds like this is WAY over blown. It is a problem that could be easily resolved by a civilized conversation with the dealer.

Re: Chicago BMW Motorcycle - Doomed?
It is well known that Chicago BMW is S L O W with parts orders but does offer some of the best prices. If you want cheap you order from them if you want fast order from Max or A&S. I used to get parts from BMW of Lynchburg, they were cheap and fast. They are gone now.

Re: GS rear seat on an R and rear frame questions
I've done it to mine. You will have clearance problems if you have the BMW bag rails installed and even though the baggage porter fits the R1100R sub-frame the GS tool tray is not compatible with the R1100R rear fender. I have a Best Rest plate on mine and the tool bag that comes with it does fit. I...

railbender - thanks for the quick reply and this sounds cool but - how? duckdave - I would probably have more confidence trying this step as it doesn't require much mechanical input. I admit I am somewhat challenged when it comes to troubleshooting stuff on the bike. As I initially mentioned, when ...

Re: Best Replacement Battery?
I just did a battery changeout the other day (put in an Odyssey) and it was a real b*tch to do this time. I did one about 5 years ago and raising the tank was difficult but was able to get it done w/o assistance but it ran rough for about 30 miles afterward before smoothing out. I really had a diff...

Re: lowering r1100r
Don't be in a rush to lower it. Is your seat in the lowest of the 3 positions? My inseam is 28" and I felt like I was driving a semi when I first got my R1100R. After a few weeks I was very comfortable with it, in fact I now have the stock seat in the middle position to clear a fuse block and h...

Re: Carbon fibre A Arm
From my bicycle experience the biggest problem with carbon fiber components is that one scratch creates a stress point, and potential failure. I've got one recumbent bike with carbon fiber forks and I inspect them quite often.
