All good things, Mike. Thank you for sharing and wish you a speedy recovery.

Elona sounds like a rare gem.

Re: 2015 R1200R Water Boxer

I'm not sure if this is the real 2015 R1200R Water Boxer or just another artists impression... It's not. It's a photo illustration of existing R Series bikes, including the LC GSA, the LC GS, the nineT and the cam head 12R. It's decent work by an Italian teenager. Motorrad showed the world earlier ...

Re: Finally Upgraded to the R1200R

… Other than fuel strips, there are a few reports of failures of the ABS module, … Don't think he'll have to worry as this appears to be a non-ABS bike. (I don't see the ABS ring by the front rotor, but this angle is inconclusive.) In any event, it's a lovely color and appears practically new. Cong...

About the foam earplugs, there's a right and wrong way to insert them. Check out this invaluable how-to video from 3M

Re: NO BMW content Medic-Alert

Hi, Bob, 2,500 glorious miles (and two, not-so-glorious drops) since autumn, including a West Virginia trip, and am loving the 6. I'm finally getting used to the weight at low speed. Coming up on a year since it left Berlin, so I installed some Speed Bleeders and flushed the brake fluid last weekend...

Re: NO BMW content Medic-Alert

I carry medical info in a zip lock in my tank bag but am looking for something small to attach to myself. How about a Resqtag? "Tag that affixes to the strap of a helmet. When opened, tag contains important information written by you: name, contacts, allergies, medicine, conditions, or anythin...

C3 Pro + screenless R12R + properly sealed foam earplugs (or Etymotics) = seashell silence. :D

Re: Sport Screen vs no screen

You bet, Paul. I'd be willing to bet half the motorcyclists who wear foam ear plugs insert them improperly. I was one of them.

It sounds as if you're not inserting them properly. Check out this EAR/3M video on fitting foam earplugs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SPNPZJingZA

Re: Sport Screen vs no screen

I would add to Woland's list a note about the overlooked (literally) space between the front of the neck and the helmet. Schuberth says the space under the helmet is the source of most noise inside it. To mitigate the roar, a scarf, balaclava or beefier neck padding is needed to fill that gap. Try t...

Yay, Joe! I hope yours arrives before summer and can't wait to see your photos. With no ASC, I fear you'll have a tough time avoiding wheelies. :D

Is it true the brakes aren't linked on the nineT? (If so, how old school!)

Re: New Naked

No more visually disruptive than the license plate bracket, especially if the hugger were matte-colored, like carbon fiber, which would blend with the tire rubber.

Hear, hear, Ambassador Eilenberger! And what a tribute to John Ryan. I just finished listening to "The Man Who Would Stop at Nothing: Long-Distance Motorcycling's Endless Road". Highly recommended for anyone interested in the long haul.

Re: Signing off

Alex, after 1,500 miles, I love it. Under way, it feels about 20 pounds heavier than the R12R. In the garage, it is indeed ~200 pounds heavier. And I like that it's one of the last bikes from Motorrad under David Robb's design eye. I'm keen on doing a SaddleSore 1000, something that would be more ar...

Signing off

On Saturday, I sold my beloved R12R and rode home on a K1600GT, a bike I've been eyeing since its release in 2011. It is a beast, and I couldn't be more thrilled. In a continuing motorcycle education, the R12R was an undergraduate degree. Hopefully, the K16GT turns out to be a master's. Here's a pit...
