Re: Help me diagnose my windshield problem

After viewing all the posts on R1200R windshields, I have come to a conclusion: (1) Use the sport shield (which is the best looking shield anyway) and stay below steady speeds of 70 mph. (2) Get an RT. Apparently, nothing else works. That was my idea but where I ride it is impossible to stay below ...

Didn't somebody here on the forum post pics of header pipes cleaned with Honda Metal Polish?

Re: Twisted Throttle Mirror Extenders

I saw another lane-splitter on the freeway here. He had mirror extenders, the difference was that his went straight up! He had great visibility to the rear and maintained the narrowest profile for threading through traffic, he even had extremely narrow handlebars. My (stock) mirrors are usually the ...

Re: R1200R vs R1200GS

I went to the dealer believing I wanted an RT. Rode that. She said why not try the GS. Rode that. She said there was one more I might like... The R12R was a winner for me over those other two for one simple fact: responsiveness. I feel like the R12R executes NOW while the other two take a while to d...

Re: Why the R1200R?

I just got back from a round trip through Los Angeles to Beverly Hills and back home. Full speed freeway with light traffic (indicated 80+mph), freeway with traffic at 60mph, slow freeway traffic with lane-splitting, 2 & 3 lane city streets with cars parking and going every which way with some l...

Re: Texting while motorcycling?!

AWESOME! Thanks for the laughs, I needed it. Last night a 15 year-old teenybopper in a bikini rode right through a red light on her bicycle WHILE TALKING ON HER CELLPHONE and crashed into the side of my car as I went through the intersection on a green light. No identification, no apology, I called ...

Re: Trail Tech HID bulbs cloudy.

PIAA has a lifetime warranty against defects. TrailTech has a 3 month warranty. After one of my TT SC4 HID lamps died (also from LumaLink) I wished I would have done something different. I replaced the SC4s with FF50s since I could mount on the same bracket. Much less $$ but also much less light.

Re: Cleaning the Bike

Seriously though..what's the Shout/Spray and wash procedure? Just spray it on like you would S100 and rinse? Pretty much. Spray on the 'Shout' and let it sit for a couple minutes then agitate it with a cheapo parts brush from Harbor Freight to get the grime out of the little nooks then rinse. Keep ...

ps They did cloud up almost immediately.

Talk with Charles, the General Manager at Long Beach BMW Motorcycles. He got creamed in the exact same situation by a driver whipping a U-turn right into him. Broken leg.

Cleaning the Bike

I read somewhere else about using Spray-N-Wash to clean the bike, in particular the parts with road grime and/or oil. It sort of makes sense since it is formulated to remove grease from clothing. I like that it must be pretty much non-toxic if it can be used on clothes and then rinsed down the drain...

Re: Another entry in the Windshield wars..

Okay, we modified the BMW touring bracket. The loop on the bottom was trimmed off and replaced with a longer loop. This raked the screen back by 10 degrees BUT we ended up with a much larger gap by the headlight. Test results with CB 16" were disappointing. The airflow is different and perhaps...
