On my homemade stick I used automatic trans fluid (nice and red). The problem I have is extreme vacilating in the fluid makes it very difficult to achieve an accurate measure. Am I doing something wrong?

I too have shopped and found Progressive to be the best deal for my area (Ohio). With a $250 deductable, my annual bill is $90. I had to do a bit of arguing becuase most of the companies wanted to classify it as a sport bike first. That premium includes $1000 worth of accessory coverage.

How about a device that would replace the stupid oil sight glass with a good old fashioned dipstick? I believe the oil sight glass to be as weak a link as the FD and drive splines!

I took out the Dremel and ground a small oval shap into that black bracket that allowed a standard allen wrench to fit easily. A little black paint on that bracket afterward keeps the rust away.
