Q about using Mobil 1 Extended Perf 15w-50

I went to the local Advance Auto just down the street from my office in Fairfax looking for the regular synthetic Mobil 1 15w-50 oil. The only formulation in this viscosity the store carried was Mobil 1 Extended Performance (also synth). I bought four quarts of it to use on my next oil change this w...

I haven't had any tire I truly dislike. I've had mainly MEZ4 and Z6s on my R and SV. And while I really like the Z6s overall, I have to agree that at the limit when riding very aggressively that they don't feel very crisp. In that regard, I definitely prefered the MEZ4. It's interesting to note that...

I test rode a Street Rod a couple years ago. That Porsche motor runs beautifully, with rich character and pull. From what I read, the Street Rod handles better than the V-Rod, but is no match for the R1150R. I wouldn't mind owning a Street Rod some day, but it's far down on my list of bikes I want t...

I've reused crush washers many times with no problems. I've even foregone the use of crush washers with no problems.

I replaced my QDs with straight 3/8" copper tubing from Lowes last December. No issues since and it's about as simple of a solution as one can have.

I believe that BMW has said that the RT is their best seller right now. But the GS is a close second.

Right now, if money were no object I'd own a R1200RT and GS, as well as the K1200GT and R-Sport.

I will most likely acquire the RT first however as money is something of an object...

I bought an '02 325i new back in October of 2001. It's been great so far. It drives like no other car and is almost as much fun to drive as it is to ride a motorcycle. It's had no problem thus far.

I recommend them.

Oh, I don't know. I did 105 indicated four times on I-81 last Thursday early evening on my way down to Blacksburg. Foolish? Yes. Fun? Hell yes! I know I-81 well and know where cops are likely to hide out, but I was being extra vigilent with my speeding. The fines that have been heaped on top of the ...

I did the same test a couple months ago. The RT is the better all around platform. More comfortable, better wind protection, and requires less concentration to not fly off into the stratosphere while still being plenty fast. In all probability, the RT will be my next bike as well. My choices boiled ...

IMO the Parkway is best experienced when you have so much time you can easily stop for naps on the grass along the way. I second that notion. If you have time, there are a number of fun/challenging roads leading to/from the Parkway worth exploring like Route 43 down to Buchanan, VA. It's a clinic o...

Pat - you certainly pile on the miles! I thought I'm doing well by putting 15 - 18k a year on my three steeds. You rack that up in half the time.

Just whose "Vision" is that?!?

Victory has launched a new luxo-tourer called the Vision. While I applaud risk taking, I have to wonder what they've been putting in Polaris/Victory's water coolers in the past few years. It is one of the oddest looking motorcycles to come out in the past ten years - surpassing even the BMW cruiser ...
