Re: Bevel box to swingarm bearing upgrade kit ???
Been down this road several times, I put my replacement bearings or bushings in the same way nushing.com showed (i.e. all thread, nuts, washers and select sockets), both bearing and bushing work, bushing looks tougher and mine still good, I use moly paste on them, I DID NEED to do some lathe sanding...

Re: Excessive Heat ?! Please Help
Besides fiddling with the mixture screws and diagnostics is there any other sensors or anything that might give thru the wrong readings? Be careful here, by "mixture screws" I hope you mean the Big Brass Screws (BBS) which simply fine tune the air flow through the throttle bodies to balan...

Re: Excessive Heat ?! Please Help
...If you're running lean it's going to make a big difference in the heat it puts out. Since you've removed the airbox and put on a free flow exhaust those both could contribute to a lean condition. I'd mainly be concerned with a leak around the injector. If it's sucking air somewhere it's going to...

I run a 2 ft fan in front of my bikes when tuning them. Suggest you do the same and see if you still think it is too hot. Bike will get hot even with fan but I've played with mine in mid Maryland summer (hot air with humidity) for up to a half an hour. It would get hot but never too hot and felt lik...

Re: Stretched R1150R
The guys aren't bad fabricators BUT engineers they're NOT...splitting the controls between the rider and passenger? If there's something us humans don't do well, it is communication, which split (stretched) controls requires unambiguity and good timing in...they won't live long on that bike...

Re: She sprang a leak
RTV'd together, no gasket....some friends and myself have found the smaller case bolts were not tight (clamp up), we snugged them up (I know we should torque them) and they were fine...for whatever reason my 2004 engines were not as tight as my earlier engines (I like the 2004 Rockster engine for my...

For <$2500 you can find old R1150R examples that require little time & effort to rehab.

IF you pull out the big bolt(s) on the top of the foot peg brackets, they are locktighted in and carry weight of the bike, so they are tight, I had to cut one of them, looking back a heat gun with jack under the backend of the engine oil sump would have been better...load path-wise those bolts take ...

WTB - R1150R gas tank
I have a tank with a lot of rust in it and a kit to coat it but if there's a decent tank out there I can afford, I'd rather forgo dealing with the rust problem...I'm not picky about the year or color, just has to fit my 2004 R1150R bike...

Consider Metzler M3 up front and Z6 out back, weird part is Z6 looks bald in middle, worked just fine for me in the rain and will wear better than a soft rear but my favorite is still Dunlop Q3 up front and Streetsmart out back...good luck...

Re: Wire Harness Sheathing
I've used 3 different things depending on the circumstance/situation, here they are in order of preference/protection: 1) friction tape (requires you to have harnessing/pigtails out to wrap), 2) split convoluted plastic sheathing in different sizes with ty-wraps and 3) spiral cut sheathing...best of...
