Noooo! So much for my belief that the white ones are accident proof. It is a shame and I am sorry for your loss.
Soo, um, how much for the hugger? (unless you plan on getting another R12R to put it on of course...)

Re: New R1200R owner, setting up the bike for touring
I am also 5'6" with a 30 inch inseam. The moto-techniques risers are not too expensive and set me in a better up-right position. They can be found here> http://www.moto-techniques.com/061062.htm For the wind shield, as Don said earlier, you probably want to get a stock touring screen mount and ...

Re: Quiet full face Helmet
Helmets I have owned: Arai Vector, Shoei Multitec, Nolan N103/with bluetooth headset. (over $1,500 in helmets within the last 3 years....) Nolan N103 = Loud... very loud (currently in use) Arai Vector = a little noisy, not that bad really (it was green to match my Speed Triple which I traded in for ...

Purchased mine brand new in February of last year. 15,700 miles so far. Unfortunately, the majority of those miles are just commuting to work.

Re: Parabellum Scout or windscreen upgrade?
Uh oh, another South Floridian. You should try and make your way out to Everglades Holiday Park on a Sunday morning. I like to get out there early around 8am and it starts gettin busy around 10am. I have experimented with a Cal Sci shield at factory touring shield angle, did not like it all. Went ba...

Re: What's a good throttle lock?
I have a Throttlemiester as well with the flat black/crinkle finish on it which I find is very easy to operate with my pinky finger and hand heel while still maintaining throttle position. It does take a little getting used to. The only reason I chose the miester over kaoko is because I thought the ...

I also got a set of the F800GS mirrors and I must say they are a huge improvement over the stock mirrors when it comes to vibrations (plus they look great too).

Re: Offset handle bar risers
I actually think the stock low is pretty good. I originally started with the standard and was not happy at all. I then found someone selling a low seat in the buy/sell section and bought it so I could send the standard one off to Sargent. While the standard one I started with was getting it's Sargen...

Re: Offset handle bar risers
I am also 5'6" and getting a set of risers was one the best investments I have made (seat comes second only because it cost alot more). I bought a set of the moto-techniques as pictured below. (these are on a R1150R, they nearly identical to the R1200R version) http://www.moto-techniques.com/R1...

Not sure if it will help much as a visual reference, but here it is. My low Sargent conversion. Feels the same height as a regular low seat (which I still have in a box at my storage facility, I should post it up for sale in the buy/sell section....someday) http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a269/ash...

Re: Almost done "crapping it up"
I have been using a key chain remote for a couple years now. I can hit the button while it is still in my pants pocket (as long as it is facing the right way...) They cost anywheres from 15-25 bucks ussually.

Re: Saddest motorcycle picture of all time
To think I purposefully avoided taking pictures of my bike on a tow truck because that is not how I want to remember her. I caught a huge piece of glass with the back tire. Thankfully it went flat over night and was discovered the next morning. BMW towed my bike to the nearest shop for free, had to ...
