Re: Panniers and Rear Rack
I swapped the pannier mounts with the rack for the GS mounts. They are cleaner in my opion and just as secure.

Re: Y-pipe recommendations?
I have the Remus Y pipe and a low stainetune muffler. It is really light and the sound is fine but a bit loud for my taste. Last weekend I installed the restrictor to the staintune and now it sounds perfect, grunts but does not bark. All parts used and off this site!

Re: Lotsa questions!
First Welcome aboard! 1. The wings do a great job if you have a fairing. Without one they are not helpful. 2. As stated the GS are great and easy to put on, just a little grinding to allow the fast idle to activate 3. I use the city case lids and find no problems. The big ones cause me to hit things...

I use them for tent, sleeping bags and of course my Kermit chair. Tenting does not have to be roughing it!

Re: Luggage?
I use the Seattle Sports side load bags, top load work as well just not as convient on the bike. Dry no matter what you can throw at them. Different sizes and the last forever. Try Sierra Trading Post for good deals or REI, NRS. I also use these for extended Sea Kayak expeditions NEVER had them leak...

Need a favor from someone near Addis La

Re: Roadside Assistance
I have the BMWMOA Anonymous book and I feel secure only having that. With the Moto guzzi book I feel the same. It's people like us doing it to help each other, rather then doing it for profit.

Re: 2002 R1150R
Richard I wouldn't go, as I know if I took it for a ride it would follow me home. Mine did that and I had to ask the wife "It followed me home can I keep it?" I have the perfect wife and she said if I took care of it and fed it I could keep it.

Re: 2002 R1150R
Listen to Twindave. Di it yourself and you know it is done correctly. The dealer set my 2002 up and it surged! I did a valve adjustment and a TB synch and it hasn't surged. It took me a while to feel confident on doing the TB, having only had carbed bikes, but it was the same. Love my 2002 RR

Re: Fuel Canister and Valve
That makes three
I kept the can on as it did no harm, I ride with city cases all the time so it is unnoticed. I even own a Subaru so I don't recognize ugly as being bad. Hey wait a moment I even ride a BEAKSTER

Help me understand why one can't just connect the two TB's together, with a single hose to solve this problem?

Re: Lovely now she won't start
I never have had this problem on the R' but my thirty year old Guzzi does this to me in the spring. I replace both plugs and add some 100% isopropanol and she never fails to start right off. Try changing both top and bottom plugs I bet it will start! BTW most dry gas is 100% isopropyl alcohol but ch...

Re: Help on choosing a touring screen for R1150R
I purchased a Parabellum Scout used with two different sized windshields. After trying many of the others this is the one I kept. I have a sport that I'll let go cheap, but postage to the UK would probably negate any savings. Look around a lot of folks are trading the R1150R for r1200's and they tak...

Re: Battery, Power socket etc.
I hooked up the Batter Tender directly to the battery with the included SAE connector and cable. I also have the BMW plug but the SAE allows me to ues it for gear that hooks directly to the SAE as I mounted it under my seat. It is 9 degrees F and the bike starts right up, can't ride in the snow but ...

Re: 1150GS peg brackets on an R
That should work just fine, I installed the Fastway pegs that GS folks use and it is a great modification. I like these better then the BMW pegs and Fastway look and feel better then stock GS pegs.
