TRe: Beakster Bash XIV 2017
Waiting for the contract to lock up 15 rooms at the Comfort Inn Virginia Horse Center in Lexington, Va. Dates are May 18 - 22. Should have the contract on Monday when I will have more information. There is a Country Cookin next door for fine dining and a Dairy Queen across the street.

Re: Beakster Bash XIV 2017
Working on some reasonable prices and a block of 15 rooms for 5/18 through 5/20 in Lexington, Va. The best locations with an Applebee's and a Dairy Queen next door are the Holiday Inn Express and the Best Western, and their rates so far are from $119 to 129 per night depending on the night. Could go...

Re: Beakster Bash XIV 2017
I was zooming so far in looking at Lexington that I completely missed the hotels in East Lexington! Looks like a good option and meets our criteria! Best Western, Holiday Inn Express in the same parking lot and walking distance to Applebee's and a Diary Queen! Devils Backbone micro brewery is just d...

Re: Beakster Bash XIV 2017
I could see zeroing in on the area between Staunton and Wyethville. There is about a 2 hour ride difference between them north to south. It's more attractive to have a hotel located close to restaurants and ideally walking distance to them or on site like we had in Staunton and Marathon. Historicall...

Take Floyd out of the running. The Hotel Floyd is already heavily booked for that weekend. So back to Lexington or somewhere in the region.

Re: Beakster Bash XIV 2017
Doc, anywhere in the region between Staunton and Marion, VA and over into WV is prime riding. I was looking at Floyd, VA since I have seen several references to it online. The Riders Workshop uses Floyd as a stop on their invisible roads riding course. It is 96 miles further down the road from Lexin...

Re: POLL: What seat are you using?
The best investment I have done for my RR was the Bill Mayer Saddle. The stock seat, and I tried the high seat and regular seat left me in agony after only one tank of gas. Bought the Bill Mayer to ride a Saddle Sore 1000 and the 1500 mile Bun Burner Gold and have done both in total comfort.

Re: BEAKSTER BASH 2016!!!! MARATHON NY - Three Bears Inn
Thank you Darryl for arranging a great venue for this years Beakster Bash. The Three a Bear Inn was a perfect place with great food, a bar and reasonable prices. It was good to see everyone again. When I got home I told my wife about all the wineries we passed riding and she couldn't understand why ...

Re: AF-XIED - This thing is amazing!
Installed the AF-XIED last weekend and noticed an immediate improvement in smoothness at lower rpm's. The hesitation is gone when running a higher gear at 2500 - 3,000 rpms. I was down shifting out of habit at the lower rpm's around town and realized I could keep it in the higher gear and accelerate...

I'm in western CT. You should check out the Yankee Beemers. They have a monthly breakfast meeting near you in Mendon.. They also have group rides and events such as the ride to Goulds Sugar House and the Damn Yankee Rally in August. They are a good group to hang with.

I like the wildlife! Reservations are made. There will probably be 4 of us. It's only 3 hours so that makes it easy. I have spent a lot of time in the Catskills on roads that don't show up on some maps. I haven' yet ridden the Finger Lakes. I can see a day touring each area. Could even consider Coop...

Van, Your fast black bike and my quick blue bike made the first Bash in Topoco and the latest one in Staunton! Your pictures bring back memories of lot of great Bash's. My yellow Stich isn't so yellow anymore, but it's still going strong just like my R1150. Maybe we should return to Deals Gap next y...

Re: 2015 Bash May 15-17, Staunton Virginia
I'm leaving Wednesday around 11:00. Heading back on Sunday.
The routes are for the newbies to the area that might want something more than Rt 250 and not end up deep in coal country hours from nowhere. If you add 250, 33, 28, 66, 150, 29, 42, 219, 60, 252 and 220, the sum is loads of twisted fun!

I put together a couple of routes. I'll bring some printed copies. If I can figure out how to post them so you can download them to your GPS, I'll do that to. They are built in Garmin Basecamp which I'm still learning.

Re: 2015 Bash May 15-17, Staunton Virginia
Two rooms are booked. Only 443 miles and four months away. There will be 3 or 4 of us, one back for his second one and 2 newbies. I like the idea of a shirt and like long sleeves for riding. Looking forward to seeing all of you in May.
