Not a nineT owner, but like 'em

On a recent trip to Europe, particularly Paris, I stopped by the Paris BMW shop and they had this nineT on display. thought you guys might want to see what some designer in Paris thought up. That is all real quality leather and the wrapped tank is tight. Very strange for me, but you gotta admire the...

Re: R1150R v new R1200R LC

oh my god, it's time to mobilize the Bundeswehr and create a national alert and recall all BMW's that have a clunky gearbox.

nice pic of a beautiful R and the alps. you're a lucky man to be able to travel and enjoy such a ride.

Re: R1150R v new R1200R LC

6' tall and 32" inseam. have just under 6000 miles on my LC and haven't felt cramped during any of those miles. I have ridden it continuously for 6 hours on a number of trips. you wearing boot lifts? :D What was it about the Gear Shift Assist Pro that you didn't like or understand? Maybe you we...

Re: musings on helmet intercoms and the BMW Nav V system

Your choice, but I am sorry that my post was such a turn off for you about the Nav V system. Maybe I did not emphasize enough that It is really a fantastic GPS with extremely helpful and detailed features for a rider. You can use any motorcycle gloved finger on the screen to activate all features, i...

musings on helmet intercoms and the BMW Nav V system

The following is not a definitive review of helmet intercoms and the Nav V system available for the R. It is meant as information and maybe a beginning for someone to research the subject in greater detail. The Nav V which works in consort with the handlebar hand grip pod (I call it the "wheel&...

I miss the old helmet lock from the previous R's

I miss the easily accessible helmet lock on the new LC. On a recent ride, I had the saddlebags loaded with real important stuff, you know, water, power bars, extra ear plugs, medicine kit, etc. and when stopping for food and/or coffee there was no room for the helmet. In the old days, I simply used ...

Re: R1150R v new R1200R LC

peels, i can only report on my experience with the bike and after taking possession in March, I have accumulated 2,800 miles. Now that summer is upon us I can get more trips in. There have been zero problems. The design flaws for me do not center on the engine, but the placement of the accessory plu...

Re: Riding 2 up on new LC

Riding 2 up on new LC

First I want to state that I like R1150R's a whole bunch. I put 80K on an '02, sold it and bought a twin spark '05 to see what improvements were made. So this is not about old vs. new. I hate that. The wife and I put about 150 miles in on Sunday. It was our first ride together on the new LC. Thought...

Re: R1150R v new R1200R LC

My sentiments exactly sir. Thank you for your well thought out comments. I still hope that this LC section of the message board will become a place for ideas, tips and reviews for all things R1200 LC and not be a place for ignorant comments about how the 1150 and 1200R's are better based on bogus ju...

LC seat review (2 of the 4 options)

There are 4 seat options for the new R LC. Standard, High, Low & Sport. The standard came on my bike and it felt to low and scooped for my style of riding, so I ordered the Sport seat. It is a very comfortable seat and is the highest of the the 4 options at 33.1". The Standard seat is 31.1&...

Re: R1150R v new R1200R LC

I think it is time to move on from the new vs. old discussions, particularly USD vs. telelever. No one is going to prove anything by these pointless disputes. The new R is neither the first nor the only current BMW without telelever. USD forks have been around for years and are pretty standard on ad...

Re: R1150R v new R1200R LC

The new 1200 is a natural progression of style and technology that I embrace. I could be considered an "old dog" (63) but I refuse to sit in the past. I view the world as it changes as a sense of wonder and pride in how humans continually create. We've come a long way since kick starters, ...

Re: ZTechnik exhaust

only rivets that matter are on the tail end where you need them for a repack. put 50,000 miles on one and never had a rivet fall out or "burn" out. repacking is at your discretion.... you can do it at 10,000 mi. or 20,000. you can get the muffler repack material without going through a dea...
