Re: Bad news, good news

No offense intended...it would have taken longer if it had come from New Jersey (now don't go jumping on me Don; I was referring to the USPS, not to the State ((and stay out of this, you postmen!)) ). You can't say a damn thing these days without offending someone, so screw all of you equally! I'm ...

R1200R in heavy rain or standing water

Need advice about riding in heavy rain where standing water is on the road. My PR3s worked great. I left the house not expecting a hard rain but found myself in a gully washer. It rained so hard water pooled inside my jeans. The water sloshing around my lap was distracting. :-k I found myself in wat...

Re: How to remove R1200R decals on tank

Hi Redwing! Can you tell us about that power shifter on your bike? Bob... the shifter is made by Pingel. Pingel makes a kit for all Harley Models, the VTX Hondas, and a few others. The Pingle Shifter is a universal kit on my bike. It's electric and come with a shift module. Also a kill module desig...

Re: New member, new BMW owner..

Nice lookin' bike... and chrome pipes. oil... did someone say oil. Herbert's (pronounced Abear's) put a standard oil in mine...10w40 I think ... BMW calls for 20w50.??? The good news for me is the bike uses almost no oil and I got 17k. It may use a window's worth over 5000 miles but that is almost n...

Re: road hazard

Besides diesel spills from trucks.... I found a RH recently and remember reading about the hazard in (I think) Hough's book on motorcycling. Differences in the pavement or a slight rise from a cracked road, a lip... maybe an inch or less high is a hazard. Yesterday riding in traffic I was coming to ...

Tarmac...keep us posted about the performance. I think the weather has very hot and very cold in Arizona. Good luck.

I agree Harry ... me , everyone spends money in the best way they can... but it looks so good in that report you mentioned.

Re: Violation of the Eilenberger Rule: Epilog

ka5ysy...glad to hear you are liking the RT. The RT is geared more to riding long distances, two up, and that ain't bad. And riding at slow speed is an easy task...excellent. I saw a part offered at Wunderlich for the R some time ago, but no longer. The part or paralever arm is offered for the RT. T...

Very clean looking bike ....like the color.... glad you got it....
A local rider who has an R1150RT said once you ride a bike with fairing you'll never go back....maybe that's true???
Looking forward to a comparison to the two bikes....as time goes by.

fitting foam ear plugs

Can't remember where I saw this video ...may have been on this forum... I tried this technique and it works very well IMHO. Have used foam plugs from the first and was always disappointed. Saw this video, tried the technique, and wow... the result was significant and dramatic. Hope I haven't stolen ...

Re: LED Lamp - Canbus resistor

Hi Shakey...I think a resistor put inline on a LED light would let the light fool the canbus; but I have no other information to give. I remember seeing somewhere a set of LED or maybe HID lights that came with a resistor...where I can't remember. I think all the turn lights would each have the same...

Re: Fuel strip

I have watched the "miles to empty" fall 2 miles to the odometer's 1. Seems BMW could better use the computer's memory and have some usable feature than a mistake waiting to happen.

AlecMyrddyn...glad to see you got your bike. After you ride through the breakin period you might see a drop in gas mileage... 8) because you'll get to see what 7000 rpms is like. IMHO...Suggestion made on this forum about farkels is a skid pan or "unterride guard." It is on my list and cos...

Re: Hugger

The Puig hugger attaches to the swing arm. Should be stable for an aggressive rider...no problems with the clearance changing. I like it and less than the huggers offered by ilmberger.

Re: Hugger

I went with the "mudsling" primarily because of cost but also fit. The NN hugger is discussed at length in this forum. IMHO .... The best fit for a hugger is from Ilmburger. Mudsling has great protection, easy to install (30 min), and is priced right. Mudsling is a product BMW might includ...
