Re: Bridgestone v Metzeler Tyres

I have had the BT-021, the BT-023 and now a BT30. The 021 had good traction, but not enough life. They are the only tires that I have worn to the wear bars all of the way across the tire evenly but my mileage was similar to yours. When I mounted the 023 I found my answer in improved mileage, and wet...

Re: 1150 windshield

I've had 3 different windshields on the R and have been happiest with the smallest flyscreen. It keeps the bulk of the wind off of my chest, but no turbulence around my helmet.

Knights Inn is .8 miles from the DQ and a Sonic in Waco. 8 minute walk. And it is only $42/night. :D

Re: 2015 Bash May 15-17, Staunton Virginia

I got home yesterday afternoon. The fuel pump didn't fail. Yeah! It was good to see everyone and sorry that I didn't get to say goodbye to everyone. I rode about 120 of 360 miles in the rain. I also did more slab than I wanted to, but I didn't want to be in banjo country if the fuel pump decided to ...

Re: Favorite boots?

I'm still wearing the BMW Goretex Boots, and I have another pair of BMW boots to complement them. My feet have been wet one time while wearing them, and that is because the water ran down my leg to the inside of the boots. I am at less than a buck/ thousand miles ridden in them. :D

Country Roads by John Denver always comes through on shuffle whenever I go south and cross the Ohio River. Shakira "Hips don't Lie" is good for Ohio 555, and Mike Cam always suggested Radar Love for VA 16 north of Hungry Mother.

Steve,
Both 33 and 47 are good through WV. I always prefer whichever one has better pavement.

The Moose Ears work great, and need no cutting to install. Just make sure you keep some clearance arount the brake and clutch levers.

When it comes to paint, I will second contacting Holt BMW in Athens, OH. Kent does some amazing paintwork, and Marvin is a master at finding the right part for your needs. Plus, I can't think of a better place to take a test ride on a new bike.

With these bikes, low miles isn't always a good thing. Miles don't seem to bother them it is the sitting in between.
