Re: Hungry Mother ride 2015 August 21-23

Wayne, after I left this morning, I felt bad I didn't hang around til everyone woke up so I could say a proper goodbye before heading home. When you headed to the shower I looked around at how quiet it was and I was packed to go....so I just took off. Fueled up and got on the slab. It took me about ...

Re: Fast idle lever

Wayne, it is not a difficult thing to take apart. The difficult part is finding that little spring after it goes flying in the garage! Seriously, do what Rob suggested, or hang a big white bucket under the handlebar or something. I did it on my 1150 and finally got it all back together after searchi...

Re: Hungry Mother ride 2015 August 21-23

I've been sick with a cold for over a week now. It turned into bronchitis and ear issues, but I'm coming anyway. Went to the doctor today and got some antibiotics and cough syrup. I should be back to about normal by Friday morning. I'm heading up early. I expect to be there by early afternoon. Look ...

Re: 2016 BMW Bash

Doc, thanks for the history lesson. I love history. Now, is that Mason Dixon line at that flat part going across the top of Maryland?

For the Bash, I suggest Elkins/ Seneca Rocks area for a pretty good compromise and still be in the good riding zone. How far is that for you?

Re: Hungry Mother ride 2015 August 21-23

This Georgia group is as fickle as a bunch of 10 year old ballerinas. They have thrown me under the bus with Hungry Mother this year, and gone and planned a weekend at Blue Ridge Motorcycle Campground that weekend. I have one other rider here that may be willing/able to come but I will most likely b...

Re: 2016 BMW Bash

I agree. Staunton was very nice, but another WV Bash would be good too. In the next couple of years sometime, I'd like to organize another commemorative Bash down in Western NC again. Like Robbinsville. Maybe I can locate Bill Haycock to join us and tell that goat joke again.

Re: Love this..

What's funny, is, I've seen this same story several times, but in each one the guy is hiding behind something different...a boat...a Harley...a BMW...golf clubs. There sure are a lot of guys hiding in the garages behind their toys. LOL

Re: 2015 Bash May 15-17, Staunton Virginia

As everyone knows I was the lucky winner of the GT Air Helmet offered by Frontline Eurosports. I rode pretty close to their store on the way home on Sunday but they were not open on Sunday. I knew that before so I didn't bother to stop in personally to retrieve my prize. Upon arriving home, the foll...

Re: 2015 Bash May 15-17, Staunton Virginia

I wound up with a few more very cool photos this morning from JB and Mac. When I created the slide for photo credits, I did not have all names available so I had to just put "Others"....then, well, I was too lazy to go back and change it. But this slideshow has pics from a number of people...

Great pictures guys! Anyone else take any scenic shots, post'em up somewhere and give us a link. I need a few for the slide show still.

Re: 2015 Bash May 15-17, Staunton Virginia

Juvy and I pushed through all day today via slab. We went thru Knoxville and Chattanooga to avoid the traffic from the mountans in Georgia heading back home down 76 and 515. We got a little rain outside of Knoxville and then 10 miles from home it began to rain on us. Not too wet though. Just pulled ...

Re: 2015 Bash May 15-17, Staunton Virginia

Another great Bash almost in the books. Heading home to North Georgia in a few hours and it looks like cloudy, rainy weather most of the way today. I'm judging an interstate slab ride is the safer option in the rain. If my back holds out we should make it home to Woodstock by late afternoon/early ev...

Re: 2015 Bash May 15-17, Staunton Virginia

Juvy and I just checked in at the Knights Inn in Chilhowie after a long beautiful day of riding north. The last 2 hours were the best. Got off I-26 at Johnson City and picked up Tenn 91 at Elizabethton. Stopped in Shady Valley for a quick break and came on up 133 to Damascus then VA 91 to I-81 and C...

I have both routes plugged in. May take some of each and then mostly do BRP up in Stauton area on Saturday.

Thanks Bob....I mean Captain.

Re: 2015 Bash May 15-17, Staunton Virginia

Okay, that Paint Bank idea looks promising. I think out of Chilhowie I'll run up to Marion and take 16 up to 42, then 42 all the way to New Castle and Paint Bank. Should be lunch time by then. From there, 18 up to Covington then find 42 again up to Staunton vicinity. How does that sound?
