Re: Sold my bike
After 9.5 years of ownership (I am the original owner) I sold my 2002 R1150R. I never thought that would happen, but it did, for a variety of reasons. I do not plan to be without a bike forever, but I am for now. Sometimes things change and there's nothing horrible about that. Are you planning a ne...

Not many of our original crew left anymore!
I sold my bike with accessories, so no large sale of items. I'll have a few things for sale.

My usual response to this question is, why bother? Unless it is required to pass inspection, does it matter if someone can see your license plate?

Re: gun question
Yes, in NJ you need a firearms card to purchase any firearm. If you want to purchase a handgun, you need a separate permit for each one, and you have to wait 30 days between each handgun purchase. The process for getting the card and the permits is a real PITA. They require two references, and they ...

Re: Fall/Winter weight oil
I used to remember this kind of stuff. Either I'm getting old or having three teenage sons is messing with the circuitry in my brain. It's both. I have the same problem. One of our teenagers just got her permit, too. Sorry, man. My third is on his license and is about to start driving... Where did ...

Re: gun question
That sounds like good advice.
I submitted my forms today for the firearms ID card. We'll see how long it takes -- I've read some horror stories about delays in NJ.

Here are the recommendations from Metzler's US web site:

They have tables that did not copy well here.

Re: Z6 tire pressures
IIRC Metzler recommends something closer to 40?
I use the Z6 and I usually have my pressure around 38 front and 40 rear.

Re: gun question
My dog briefly engaged the black bear, then thought better of it, and ran inside to bark from inside the house. She's not Old Yeller, but she is very protective of us. I could tell another story of how she ran off a bad guy, but that's for another day. Anyway, I did look at the Remington 870 express...

Re: Tall rider with seat issues
I am 6'2" with a 34" inseam. I use the BMW tall seat with a sheepskin butt pad. It is very comfortable. I wish it were just a wee bit taller, but then I guess I should have bought a GS. Then I cut a piece of foam memory pad from a mattress pad we were discarding and put it under ...

The Remington 870 has a pistol grip on a stock, such as this http://www.remington.com/products/firearms/shotguns/model-870/model-870-express-shurshot-synthetic-cantilever.aspx I wonder if these are legal in NJ? Otherwise, this seems like it would do the trick. http://www.remington.com/products/firea...

Re: gun question
A pistol grip shotgun is illegal in NJ. You local gun retailer would know for sure, but anything that "looks" like an assault weapon is verboten. http://www.nraila.org/statelawpdfs/NJSL.pdf And that Mossberg JIC is super cool. Sopranos used those things and they live/lived in NJ. :? ;-) W...
