Somewhere over the rainbow.

That was the song that was used in a touring video done by someone in the southwest states from memory. The singer was female. It was memorable both for the ride story and the music.

Can anyone supply the url to the video. I'd be most grateful.

Cheers

Years back, when I was a member of a university based motorcycle club, we used to have such a rally. The clues were always a mixture of cryptic and obvious...to enable most people to at least complete the course. You might also be asked to collect stuff along the way. All contestants received an eme...

When PI first had the GP, getting off the island after the race was diabolical. The road was a dual carriageway only, with a single dual carriageway bridge to get off the island. It took hours to go 12 ks. The bottlenecks were unbelievable as traffic control/rationalisation was non existent. The fol...

Thanks for posting those DJ.

It was a very nice day. The weather here has been brisk and foggy many mornings and DJ and another mate Mick have been talking about heading to the Mt. Macedon pub for lunch for 2 months. Something has always managed to waylay our plans. Anyhow, on Thursday I was off work and my 10 yo daughter had b...

Don't forget the easterly (make that a westerly)tailwind coming back across the Nullabor either Mick. The headwind heading west can be hard work, day after day.

It got down to 4-6 C. Not too bad for this time of year, but the breeze was a sou' wester and may have added substantially to the wind chill factor.

Long report? Nah! Great report? Yessiree! OK DJ, the weather Monday is 15c and fine. Lets do Mt.Macedon via the backroads and you can do a winter post from sunny Victoria. Keep it up Kristi, DJ needs some motivation to get out and about lately. He's taken to sleeping in when there's a ride on offer!...

Those road trains can be murder to pass. Overtaking them can be suicidal, especially if the weather is poor. There were two of us heading back to Victoria and the rain was moderate but constant and the road spray obliterated much of the vision. We had most "fun" when the big rigs passed us...

Great stuff. Keep those snaps flowing.

I can remember paying 83cpl in 1988/9 at C0cklebiddy and thought the world must've been coming to an end!

Did you see any camels or the big eagles eating roadkill on the Nullabor?

I wouldn't do these sort of turns on the stands if you're considering long term ownership.

Stands are often the most neglected part of the bike. They won't do their job correctly eventually if these tricks are done too often.

That must've taken you all day...the amount of times you stopped! Great pix. DJ, the day they do that road up from Eildon to Jamieson we'll be there. It's the obvious route for the the Dinner Plain ride, but we don't expect it to happen. If it gets wet, the clay becomes very, very sticky. DAMHIK. Wh...
