yes they are just CPC chrome quick disconnects, that replace the plastic ones.
When mine broke, I just used two of these and hose clamps. Its bit of a hassle when removing the tank, but no sweat to me...

Re: First Time Valve Check for me - Question
Here's another potential R1150** oilhead tick-tick-tick noise source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pRXeaequvzk Was not aware of this potential problem when I surfed last week on YouTube. I'm planning to investigate this possible lifter problem for my Rockster, which has never been as smooth as m...

Re: dry, cracked fuel lines
Just an FYI about fuel lines in general. I installed the brass quick disconnects and a small auto type inline fuel filter after going thru the battle to access the in tank filter. Now I can change filters in 2 minutes with a flat blade screwdriver without having to disassemble anything. I've got a ...

Re: Tire Time
i looked up the 009's before I agreed to them.. says they were made with long tread life in mind. i know they make the 005 and 007 which are softer compounds. so IM imagining these wont corner QUITE as well. so well see. http://www.shinkotireusa.com/tire/009-raven I also met an RT rider who got 12k...

gregor, I've heard it said that the USA and the UK are 2 English speaking countries separated by a common language. Yeah, it may seem confusing, the slang definitions of the Emergency CutOff Switch, and when translated literally you are correct -but- the end of that same sentence said "s...

Re: All in one biking boots: tall sole, weatherproof, no laces, and work appropriate
i bought these because I hate wearing boots, even more than I hate sneakers.... now only wear these on longer trips... they are "temporarily rainproof if caught in light shower" but a 7hr deluge, they are not. I learned this the hard way. LOL BUT. They ARE comfortable enough to walk around...

Re: Tire Time
Ha indeed. I laugh every time I go to the airport and the foo foo coffee lines are longer than the TSA lines. Had the 1997 Bandit 1200S right when they came out, fantastic. A few Motorcycles later and was drawn back to the UJM Bandit platform. With good tires of course ;) Gratuitous current photo.....

i just wrapped mine with electrical tape after inspecting due to a fuel pump not coming on.. eventually turned out to be a plug too loosely fitted after crabbing the frame apart.

dont let it eat at you, but let it always in the back of your mind, so you pay attention.
what i do, as I watch in mirror. if driver doesnt look engaged, and the speed looks high.. I flash my brakes.
drivers DO tend to creep awfully close to bikes, which i unnerving.

tundra... I must respectfully disagree on your money spending comment. I have about 700 miles on those 009's now. thoroughly impressed. actually corner better. even in the wet. if they last NEAR as long as the Metzelers or continentals, or even Michelins, I don't see a reason Ill use anything else. ...

Re: Trouble shifting into first gear - SOLVED
So I removed the shift linkage and cleaned and greased the sockets. However once I removed the linkage, I found the shifting arm to be all wiggly. In fact with a little jiggling it came right out! Clearly the filibuster head screw was loose, so the shifting arm was barely attached to the selector s...

I explained that "spinning gears" thing to the coworker who bought new Fz8. he rode it and carefully put in first when he shut it off. I asked him why, he said he didnt like the clunk when he shifts into first to take off.

Re: Expected range of mileage on dry clutch and signals it's time to replace?
^^^^ I read of one (1100) lasting 250k. :) with only 22k on the clock, I wouldnt even have failed clutch in my mental rolodex yet. now. what I Would consider,... crack it apart over winter, and see if the clutch splines are fine, lube them, and change gearbox seals when in there.. if they're ok, the...
