I do not recommend this operation as a DIY. There's a good reason why the Owner's manual, or even most Shop Manuals, do not explain operations such as the purge of coolant or ABS in any detail. When properly used, these clutches last forever. How many miles do you have? What does happen more often, is that clutch plates become contaminated by either gear oil or clutch fluid. Mine is 6+ years old and I have never maintained it in any way. It can go for months at a time without a recharge. I was away for a whole year and all a fiend did was to start the bike up every now and then. However, I have always found it a bit weak in winter.
