Re: Fast idle issue

It could be that something has stretched. I can't remember if there's a secondary adjustment at the junction box or not. I HAVE replaced the entire cable set in the past (Or did I just strip it down.... can't remember). Either way - some delving would appear to be in order. I'd suggest starting at t...

I was, (but not anymore)
I might be again in the future, (if I can be persuasive enough), but not yet.

:D

I guess that doesn't help you immediately.

Re: Do we need more users?

I try to visit this site often to see how goes it. I'm not a social media type but since I've had my Rock I have tried to participate here for any events or problems I can help with. I also donate each year. It would be a shame to see the forum fold as there are a lot of oilheads out there. So late...

Re: Do we need more users?

New Year, but the forum is still pretty quiet. :(

Don't be afraid to post a new thread or two about your bike, your plans, your stories and experiences. :)

Re: TOR or MOA Meet-Up

I still intend to get a Rockster/R1150R meetup in the UK at some point (there's plenty of old and new owners on the Rockster Facebook page), but that depends on if we ever get out of this pandemic.

Re: Gear Oil Choices

I use (IIRC) Castrol 80W90, but then I'm in the UK, it doesn't get quite as warm here.

you need 'just' over a litre, if I remember correctly, it's something like 1050ml that you need in total (1.05 litres)

Seasons Greetings and Best Wishes!

It's been a funny old year, but we made it this far, so I hope we're all keeping contact with family and friends, and eyeing up the potentials for next year's riding and fettling! Stay safe, stay healthy, love those you love, remember fondly those you may have sadly lost, and get those bikes ready f...

Re: Changed fuel line quick-connectors, now it won't start.

Any news?

Re the breather lines - ime it's not often they get pinched - but they do seem get blocked by debris at inopportune times.

(which reminds me - I need to clear the filler drain on the Rockster at some point).

Re: Memories......

Maybe I'm lucky this morning! January 2008, dropped my '04 r on ice and broke left leg in a major way......I now have an expensive piece of titanium that far outweighed the value of the bike at the time. July 2020, dropped my new to me '05 RT on gravel. Roticerated my right foot about 120 degrees c...

Doesn't sound electrical (ie plugs and caps). Sounds like fuel flow (or lack of)

Re: Changed fuel line quick-connectors, now it won't start.

Throttle cable in its little cup on the bodies?

Fuel pump?

Blocked tank breather?

That's the first 3 off the top of my head.

Re: Gas line leak

Then last week I noticed a hydraulic leak on the wood splitter. Both hose clamps on the low pressure side of the pump had stripped out teeth due to vibration. Maybe I should change my screen name to”Hose Clamp” :O https://photos.app.goo.gl/AAhXZLaW6jPghv9K7 That's possibly one of the reasons they d...

I'm considering Nitrons for the Rockster, does your rear shock have a remote preload adjuster?

Re: Gas line leak

Those clamps don't last forever, nor do the rubber hoses. You may find that the rubber hoses have tiny cracks. I've had the joint between the hose and the QD 'weep' a few times - I just give the clamps a good squeeze with an appropriate implement and they're find again. :) Never had an issue with th...
