Re: ABS removed, now to reroute the lines...suggestions.
Thinking it's time that I apply the Riceburner Technique. Bought the Brembo version calipers and will install this winter. Also, Soliton tell us what finishing you did for your calipers? Buff? Blast? Re-anodize? One thing I only learnt 'this' time around: the Brembo callipers actually sweep a 'larg...

Nope - I check in every day, looking for new posts.

Hoping to fit and testout my Nitrons (ordered nearly 4 months ago now, they turned up fine, but I've not been able to get to the bike), this weekend.
Fingers crossed the weather holds!

It's SUMMER! (up north) Who's riding?
And where are you riding?
Due to one thing and another, I'm going through a bit of a riding drought, not for lack of desire to ride, but regular life keeps getting in the way, so - Tell us what you're riding and where!

Re: I'm Baaaaaaa-aack!
Hi I know this is a bit late and maybe you have sorted your fuel issue. It is a common issue with in tank pump issues that the fuel pipes leak in the tank when they get old. The pipes break down. Also a lot of people replace the pipes in there tanks with normal fuel line. They do not last. They swe...

Re: Another Rockster
Sounds like a nice rescue/restore job! I don't know about NZ, but in the UK and (afaik) Europe, the heated grips were always an option (an extra £200 or so iirc), but most UK dealerships added it on 'anyway' to the bike when bought as it was very very rare that someone didn't want them! Be aware tha...

Re: Battery Access and Starter Problem Resource
It's less than 10 minutes to remove the tank, nearer 5 once you're used to it, and the same to re-install it, again: once you're used to it. The main tricks for me are : 1) use a magnetic tray sitting on the fuel-cap (less going back and forth with each screw) 2) make sure the screws are ALL the sam...

This is the tall seat, note there is almost no dip from the front edge of the seat http://i716.photobucket.com/albums/ww169/keithbrwi/tallseat.jpg This is the medium seat, drops an inch or so from the front edge. http://i716.photobucket.com/albums/ww169/keithbrwi/mediumseat.jpg I do not have the lo...

Good to hear from you young fella! Good to be around still :) Waiting around that is.... the Nitrons are taking ages to show up. In the meantime I've gone and bought myself a new (to me) car: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51286186545_485f95af50_z.jpg Mainly because where I live now there's NO...

Re: ABS removed, now to reroute the lines...suggestions.
Thanks heaps for that Riceburner, Sorry for not following the question up on the original posting. When I was contemplating the job I didn't really have my head around the three different ways to re-route the brakes and after I had done it and seen the under tank coupling it threw me for a loop as ...

Re: Remove ABS - Dual Banjo at the master cylinder?
Just a follow up on this. I learnt from UKGSer's Steptoe something I hadn't realised before: the Brembo calipers sweep a slightly different area on the disc. So - although it's NOT a problem (I've been running the Brembos for years without issue) you might get even better brakes by using discs from ...

Re: ABS removed, now to reroute the lines...suggestions.
Dual banjo at the master-cylinder. BY FAR the easiest to fit, easiest to bleed, and safest to run (it's racing practise for a reason). I've done it twice (3 times?) now. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48109180668_5e1620b2ab_z.jpg The hard-line junction replacement on the side of the frame is a ...

Re: Rear brake vent nut sheared off
The caliper IS a brembo (it's just badged BMW, there will be Brembo written on it somewhere). TBH, I'd probably just replace the caliper, and then maybe find an engineering shop to remove the bleed nipple from the original, IF they could reassure you that they'd be able to remove it safely without d...

Re: Streetguard 4 (2018) Jacket
Update, if anyone is interested? A week or so ago I got a call telling me that they couldn't find any more Streetguard 4 jackets to replace the 4th one, so they were going to replace it with one of the new Pace Guard Tour jackets. Great, I thought. :D So, I went down and tried a few on until I found...

Recently the whine in my starter came back and it was worse than before.
