Bike is home now. The original quote was 1200, then they saw the input shaft was gone so it got bumped to 2200. I went and picked up the bike and the grand total ended up being $1750. Not sure about the ponies, but it gives a bit of a deeper sound, and it allows for you to put on a full size left case

Apparently not, since the bike was done on wed. but i couldnt get out there to pick it up. Its all a bunch of B.S. since the o-ring failed when they were doing their final test yesterday morning. Do you have the violet and wires from the lights going to the correct poles on the relay? I think that was my problem, until i started switching the wires around and testing until it finally worked.

generally, how long between symptoms and actual failure? Is there a reference for that? Not sure there is any specific timeline. But if I recall correctly, from the first time I noticed the shifting problem to complete failure was around 1200 miles :-k . Mind you, that is the first notice of diffic...

Yeah, they should repair it ,if it is problematic. Schedule an appointment. I would just tell them what the problem is. Murphy's law says that the problem won't show up when they test the bike. Next time it does it (like the next day) call them up and schedule another appointment. Do this until the...

My main concern with purchasing another BMW is not the fear that the machine itself will fail, but rather the approach they have taken WHEN the machine HAS failed. I know things break all the time.
