Re: (new rider) wind while riding at 50 mph uncomfortable

Even though I road dirt bikes for years-once I got on a highway with 18 wheelers and three or four lanes, it took me a while to settle in and be confident/comfortable-and I had years of riding under my belt. Take your time, no jerky movements and get ready to hear all kinds of new sounds that will a...

Re: How do you ride your 1150?

I always strive to find the highrest octane (I'm in PA so that is typically 93) to ensure the best performance. I'm hearing that is not the case? Can I get some info?
Thx. very much.

Re: Rockster Seat on r1150r

Got it. Thanks! Just wondering if for $60.00 they'd be an improvement to standard R1150R low seat. I'm looking for higher and wider.

Rockster Seat on r1150r

Hey gang: Just so I have the honor of elongating the ongoing seat discussion with one more tidbit that I read but cannot confirm... I read that a Rockster seat (which by some accounts is a bit flatter, wider and more comfortable-especially for one's manhood) is a seamless fit to our R series. Anybod...

Re: Shorter clutch lever?

I was thinking about this topic and realized that when I pull my clutch lever, the lighter I pull it (and closer to the center stock ) the better the clutch engages and smoother the shifts. When I used to pull it back to the bar like in my previous bikes, I consistently had problems getting really s...

There is a "for sale" area of the site that you may have better luck with if you haven't tried it already. Either way-welcome!

Re: Sargent Seat

What about Bar Backs to bring handlebar closer? Typically this model does not have a seat adjustment.

Re: What I think I know

Welcome! To your points, what I've found over the last 2 1/2 years of ownership. Great group here. Whenever I needed help someone stepped up. 1) Shifting is a little clunkier than other bikes but solid. Once I stopped trying to fight it, it is like butter. At least on mine-I barely use the clutch, d...

Re: 1150R seat

Actually Tricky that was me. It did work OK but it left an uncool looking gap between the top/front of the seat and the gas tank since as it went up it also went back. Maybe I'll just go back to that for a bit and reside myself that is time to spend some $$$ on a new seat.

Re: 1150R seat

So since the seat bracket is not adjustable (like my friends RT) could we buy a higher (used) bracket to keep our nads from being squished? I have been dealing with this since I bought the bike and trying to find alternatives to spending more $000? for an aftermarket seat. I will if I half to but......

Re: Pilot 4 spun from pure gold?

This weekend I just put Conti's on the Blue Beakster. I couldn't believe the deal-less than $175 for both + free shipping at Moto Super Store. I know I get what I pay for so we'll try them out this year and see what happens by Oct. I'm usually good for 6k of riding during good months. I read a ton o...
