Re: 2013 Beakster Bash, May 16-19, Marietta, OH

Biff, when are you getting to Marietta? I should be there sometime late Thursday afternoon. Also, where is the place we had breakfast last time we were in Marietta? I think a waitress there misses me........

Re: Nitrogen in tires.

The big problem I have with using nitorgen is paying extra for it. Sure, there are some advantages, but they are very minimal. Since it's free for you, it's worth every penny. But, if someone is selling it for a couple of dollars per tire, they are selling snake oil......

Re: New F800GT

The article says is has a larger fairing, a high mounted exhaust, and new wheels. The 'integrated bags' look just like the bags I have on mine. Maybe they just mean the bags are standard equipment on this model. Marketing people like to throw catchy terms around for no real reason. I certainly don't...

Looking at the pictures, I really don't see much difference between the ST and GT.

Re: Beakster Bash 2012 - May 17th - 20th

I got home about 7:30pm CDT and immediately mowed the lawn. I'm beat. Distance wise, it was about 550 miles for me. I didn't take a very direct route either way though. Most of the day today was Interstate. I hit some serious rain on the Cumberland Plateau, but was wearing rain gear so it was no big...

Re: Modifications to my F800ST

The GPS connector is wrapped up on the right side of the battery. You can buy a special cable that fits the connector, but I just cut the connector off and hardwired it. Electrically, this does energize with the ignition switch. When you turn the switch off there is a 30 or 60 second overhang, so it...

Boring........ Did it in 2001 and it resulted in another ass whipping for a yankee football team (33-9).

Re: DSFL (First Annual) On the Spot

First of all I would like to go on record saying wine, by definition, is a 'girly' drink. I enjoyed the wine very much, but I also must say any 'girly' side of me is a lesbian. Now regarding DSFL; I like the idea of a ride to the Finger Lakes area. But, fall is football time. Particularly on the wee...

Re: Little things, greater satisfaction

I would like the larger, softer grips as well, but how does this affect the heated grips? At best it would slow down the heat reaching your hands. But, I would think the wrap would act as an insulator and the heated grips would be less efficient. Do they still heat up pretty good through the wrap? T...

Re: New F800 ST transmission

I occasionally hit a false neutral between 5th and 6th, but I would say it's less than 10% of the time. I don't know if it's a transmission issue, or if it's something you'll adjust to. This transmission does shift very differently than my R1150R did. This one being much smoother.

Re: GS-911 Diagnostic

I'm real happy with mine. They keep adding features in the software. My only complaint is the software is only good for a couple of months. It seems every time I go to use it, the software has expired and I have to log in and download a new version. Now that I know, I'll just have to get into a rout...

Re: Flaming out on the interstate, 10 miles on the low fuel lite

This is interesting about the under-seat cooling. My only low fuel incident with my F800ST was I ran it out of gas with 4 miles to empty on the OBC. I just had to check the accuracy of that thing. But, I was assuming it would go to zero before the gas ran out. I wonder if the Sargent seat I've insta...

Here's how it works; the top two teams in the SEC are the top two teams in the nation. Everyone else is playing for third place. The end. Not being a 'I told you so' type of person, I'll make an exception here. If there's to be a playoff system, I think Florida should play Texas with the winner pla...

Just got a Sargent seat and a LED tail/brake light for my F800ST. I won't have a chance to install either one this weekend, but hopefully I'll get around to in next week.

I work for Philips and the best deal I could get on a Sonicare toothbrush was at Costco. I don't have the Flexcare model. I really like the Sonicare toothbrushes. This is the second set I've had and they work great.

That was a great episode. I think the 'bike curious' remark was hilarious. I also like one earlier this season, 'The Ring'.
