Re: hall sensor rebuild
Wayne, Doing some sifting around I found this report, in which after many tries the rider discovered (claims) the wiring is the only problem, and the sensors last a lifetime ( which sounds likely as the above link offering a lifetime warranty as long as your own the bike, makes sense) hackerschicken...

Re: Tune up discovery
Hey Peels.
i tested the wheels sticking and no issues.
After I this talk I am thinking about TPS now? And gonna throw a new set of plugs in there, and gonna run some tanks of 87 and see what I get.
I appreciate you folks taking your time to discuss with me.
thanks again

Re: All in one biking boots: tall sole, weatherproof, no laces, and work appropriate
love my combat touring boots. they do have laces inside that cinch up the legging tight (no tying tho) they are about thirteen years old, very water proof, good crash protection. recently resoled. as long as you don't have to walk around or stand too much, they aren't for hiking. great investment IMO

Re: Valve Ajustment on 1150
just did mine for the first time about a week ago. made my own manometer out of tubing and a yardstick.
took way too long, but i think next time both the sync and valve adj will be done in an hour or less
way to go. it's daunting when you begin and liberating when you complete successfully

Re: Tune up discovery
All I can say is wow. That is a brilliant and detailed explanation. thank you. I just have the stock fly screen. Speed limit is 85 out there on I10 so 100mph plus is pretty standard, but the wind always kicks your ass once you get past Sonora heading west. Here around home I am getting the same mile...

Re: Tire topic -- Shinko Raven 009
got close to 2K on my new set also. blasting across west TX at 100MPH in the heat, shows no visible sign of wear other than the chicken strips finally wore off the front at 1500 miles. i have run shinkos and kendas on my f650 with no bad experiences. i will say that on the Fbike that wet traction de...

Re: First Time Valve Check for me - Question
I just restarted and let it rev off the limiter for a couple seconds and poof the clacking sound is gone. Yeow! [-X #-o [-( Not only does bouncing off the rev limiter NOT do any good to any engine part, it can do some harm to piston ring lands and many moving valve train parts. The clacking went aw...

Re: Tune up discovery
new air filter, no sticky brakes, at 85 - 100 into the wind, fully loaded with at least 100lbs and bags i did see almost 39 mpg, and yes i do ride fast, but i am not whacking the throttle wide open every chance i get, seems to go fast enough with the correct gear and just a little throttle produces ...

Re: First Time Valve Check for me - Question
Throttle shaft is worn and rattling a bit. If you ease a bit of throttle does it stop? or reach down and feel the wheel that the cable is hooked to and open it slightly and see if that makes a difference. Not uncommon. It was clacking loud, from making zero extra sound after I started the motor upo...

Re: Brighter headlight option(s)
When I bought mine a year ago the headlight was really dim
Swapped an Osram silver star for the existing piaa. Way brighter much less money.
I'm going to look at the reflector now too.
Thanks

Tune up discovery
I've owned my boxer just over a year, riding just under 4k miles, averaging-between 34 to 37 mpg. After completing 42k service I found the bike equipped with ngk bkr7eix iridium plugs. Over many hours of studying by reading posts and watching you tube related videos I've never run across this as a r...

Re: First Time Valve Check for me - Question
Obviously you're on top of your maintenance and that's great! But don't forget an oft forgotten bit of the R's service and that's changing the coolant in the tankside radiators. I had my tank off today while doing some repair on the starter (had to disconnect the battery). And don't even get me sta...

Re: First Time Valve Check for me - Question
easy bee. i just restarted and let it rev off the limiter for a couple seconds and poof the clacking sound is gone. it was most definitely coming from the left throttle body. you could feel the vibration with your finger, and really hear it, versus listen with ear on the cylinder heads before they g...

use some vinegar, water, tea tree oil, cedarwood oil, lemon oil (choose your scent but use the tea tree predominantly for its antibacterial properties)
