Brake rotors inquiry

I bought all new brake pads front and back. 2003 non ABS with 74k on the clock. I have never changed front pads because they never needed it. I am guessing that they have never been changed as I bought it with 17K. I don't know what these pads are made of...but I can not complain about the longevity...

That is completely normal. Always check for metal shavings. I use a screen colander to drain the oil so I can check for shavings.

I have been very happy with my Craftsman from Sears. I can't remember if it carries the lifetime warranty though. I think I paid around $70.

It is supposed to be done every year. Clutch can go every two although I just do mine annually anyway. Congrats on doing it yourself. It only gets easier the more you do it.

I haven't heard of that. Are they trying to charge when you post? I haven't received an email stating this new policy.

Re: Should you use Seafoam on these bikes?

I remember a post about putting it in the crankcase a while ago......no one on the board at that time had used it in the crank case. I've been using it for years but never in the crank case. It says on the can that you can so it probably would be OK as long as you didn't leave it in there long.
