Just prior to the Arkansas Bash, I bought a new pair of boots. I did not have a chance to use them before leaving on my trip. My regular boots are Alpine Stars, which are built slim & light weight, perfect for a bike like the Rockster (non ABS, non linked). The new boots are HD FXRG. They're mad...

I've got Works Shocks on my dirt bike, and my neighbor has 'em on his Harley.

I think you'll find them to be good to deal with. But, if they start taking big money, I'd go with the Ohlins.

Good Luck

Leave the charger on low charge, maybe one or two amps, for a while. Let it warm the battery up. Maybe for an hour or so. Then try it.

Good luck.

I change tires on my Rockster pretty often, but I've never had to remove, or even loosen the muffler. And I have the 5.5 in rim and 180/55 tire. If I remember correctly, the bottom of the wheel has to slide to the right (opposite the muffler). When the tire comes in contact with the muffler on one s...

Yeah, I mentioned something to Boxermania about that "just (barely) room for me" pass. Otherwise known as the "Hail Mary" pass. You know, the one where you go for broke, all or nothing, etc, etc. BM said, "I knew exactly what I was doing, I timed it perfectly, with room to s...

Thanks for the tour. The map really helps to understand your ride. I toured that area twice on a Buell. Once with the SoCal Buell Riders and once with the National Buell Club.

It's a great m/c area. It would be fun to do it again on my Rockster.

Gypsy, you lead a full life, it seems.

Good to hear you and daughter are OK.

Don't they have no-fault insurance in Texas?

On the bright side, if I remember correctly, you've already done a lot of research on your next auto purchase.

Good luck with getting it all sorted out.

I just finished a 9 day, 3500 mile ride on my Rockster (including two 700+ mile days). I find the stock tall seat to be very comfortable. Along with the stock bars. I'm 5'10, btw. For this trip I wore MotoGP Alpine riding pants (w/ and w/out the zip in liner, plus bicycle shorts. It's a great combin...

Maybe you can safety wire them , like the road racers do. It would make them a lot harder to tamper with. Probably easier to just check them before each ride.

Looks like you had a great ride. The longest fairy crossing I've been on is the Yarmouth, Nova Scotia (Canadian) to Bar Harbor, Maine (USA). It was an Australian made high speed catamaran. Cruises at 55 mph, I seem to recall. It used to be an 8 hr crossing (I think), but the Cat, as it's called, cut...

A few more pics

My digital camera pooped out on my trip to Arkansas, so I bought a disposable at a Dollar store for 5 bucks. Here's a few pics I took along the way. I saw this abandoned cemetery in NW Mississippi. I like checking out the old cemeterys, so I had to stop and have a look. This was off of Mississippi 3...
