Re: Filing DOT complaints regarding the fuel strip

and there we go.. this discussion brought out not only a few pointless and attacking remarks..but also someone who has shown a lot of hate towards BMW motorrad .. :smt021 well.. let's hope that something positive happens for the people with the fuel strip issues (third party vendor?, a simple magica...

Re: Filing DOT complaints regarding the fuel strip

I have never had a problem with my 09's 30000km fuel strip, it is quite accurate as well +- 10km out. Maybe it could be bad fuel additives or a temp issue affecting them as the temps in Sydney does not go below 6deg c.I only fill up on 95 octane ,no ethenol for this baby . that's good and provides ...

Re: new light grey R- she has finally arrived!

One question: has anyone here have their side bags painted (the outer cover part) to match the bikes color? I saw it on some pictures (can't remember where anymore..was a while ago).. just wondering how easy/difficult it is to have that done professionally and how much it would cost. If you bought ...

Re: new light grey R- she has finally arrived!

Congrats !! beautiful motorcycle. I'm thinkin' satin, perhaps even glossy black P/coated wheels. and a 4-5 inch three piece "Le'Mans" stripe, down center of fender & tank? Thank you. Color-wise I think I will leave the bike as is for now  .. but I think I might look into painting...

I will PM you as well once I get ready to head out there.. will most probably be in SF from May 5-8, after that I am driving (in a cage though :( ) down the Pacific Coast Highway to stay with a friend in L.A. for two days.

Re: new light grey R- she has finally arrived!

Very nice. I really like the instrument layout - it's just right while the old one is just stupid. I agree about the instrument layout. I prefer the newer version as well. I was surprised that the brand new f800gt (they had two of those that arrived with my bike) has the same instrument layout as t...

Re: new light grey R- she has finally arrived!

Beautiful bike. Looks like a creamy white to me too, though. I know.. it's really hard to see the true color on pictures.. but you can ask Lost Rider.. he saw one in person too and said it was actually grey. :D By the way I will be up in your part of the country in May... not with my bike tho...

Re: new light grey R- she has finally arrived!

Congrats on a new bike!! It looks beautiful. I haven't yet went to a dealer to look at the new colors but this light gray in pictures always looks white to me. Can you kinda mistake it for a white? If there's no real white right next to it? It actually looks different depending on light. It is more...

Re: New F800GT

I saw the first F800GT today at my dealer.. they just got two (orange and white) in and one already sold. Really like this bike. Still wouldn't exchange it for my R1200R (which arrived the same day the GTs arrived). Would I like the better fuel economy and a cheaper bike?! yes definitely. =D> As muc...

new light grey R- she has finally arrived!

She is finally here! My brand new light grey R1200R :) I didn't get to see her coming out of the crate..but right after and was the first one to get to start her yesterday. Since there was still ice on the roads, today was the first time I was able to take her for a short ride. I am in love! :smt055...

Thank you VanDan for the info! Am pretty exited about this.. Hadn't seen it before but never quite like the "color change" of the header pipes :) Karamazov: thank you for the info! Good to know i wont have to drive to Vancouver for that.. ha.. although I could still use tht as an excuse fo...

Re: Pricey, but I'm very happy.

What is the finish on the header pipes? Did it go over the Chrome? The headers are ceramic coated which is able to handle the heat. Goes overtop of the chrome. Works great and not that expensive. Cheers, Dan Where did you get the ceramic coating for the header pipes? About how much did it cost. Rea...

Re: Brake Failure Light

I think I may have an issue with my 08 3k miles as well. Got the bike a month ago and the it displays the following when turning on the bike and i am not sure if it’s normal. Turn ignition on, the brake failure light flashes and the little yellow light flashes as well. After about 5 seconds yellow ...

Re: New F800GT

I predict you will be a much happier camper with the 1200R vs any BMW 800; they are simply different classes of bikes; I am not a fan of the BMW 800 motor; I find it rough. I have an R1200R and a Triumph 800 ABS which is the "roadie" and not the "XC"; the Triumph 800 triple is t...
