Glad to see you are coming Rob. It should be a good Bash. I'll try to remember to take some photos for a slideshow later. Juvy and I will be stopping in Chilhowie on Thursday night then ride on in to Staunton on Friday. Wayne, or Brian, or anyone else who knows....Can you give me a nice "Non-In...

Here is the image for the Bash Tee Shirt. I'll be making a few just in case someone wants one when we get there. I can always make more and send them after the Bash if you want to see them first. A couple of you have expressed interest, so send me your size and long or short sleeve, and I'll make yo...

Thad, can you bring your GS-911 gadget? I'm not sure if Cyclerob is coming or if he is bringing his, but both of you have my bike's VIN on your GS-911 and I need to update the little warning notification I am getting on my bike's computer. If you can't or just don't want to, its okay. Bike still run...

I need to do this for Lil Chubb. She clatters like crazy at startup. When can I come over for the procedure?

Re: Planning First Long Ride

I've done this several times from here in Georgia to the west coast. Up the PCH to Oregon in 2010. Beautiful ride! If you are not a member, I would join the BMW MOA and take along a copy of their Anonymous book. If those folks are home, they will come help when/if you get into trouble. Also, another...

Re: Happy Christmas!

Yes Andy, the Board is a mere ghost of what it once was, but there are quite a few of the old members still lurking in the shadows from time to time. I see Cyclerob on occasion here in Georgia where he retired and he comments on mechanical issues when he sees them here. At Hungry Mother and the Bash...

Mac, did you reference the BMW Bash group? All other rooms are probably taken but that group was reserved for us but you have to mention the group.

Yep, Wayne is on the case. He's just been a little tied up lately. I think he has been changing the coolant out in his R1150R.

Re: R1150R overheating!

Unless you have an engine oil after market temp sensor installed as Cyclerob did years ago, you are realy just guessing on the oil temps. However, if your headers start to glow red hot, then it is time to shut it off. This was one of the very few negative aspects of the RR bike that always caused me...

Re: Synthetic vs. Regular Motor Oil

Not sure what seals he is referring to but if seals were leaking it seems like you would be seeing oil weeping or dripping out somewhere. Now if the engine is indeed USING that much between changes, it is probably being burned in with the gasoline as it passes by the cylinder rings. I'm not sure I u...

Re: 2015 R1200R Water Boxer

The article says the telelever is replaced by the front fork, like other bikes. That pretty much nixes it for me. The telelever is what makes this bike so nice and confortable...and stable. AFAIC.
