Ey! They don't get back until tomorrow. In the meantime: Overnight: A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 5am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 68. Calm wind. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts pos...

See ya'll there.

Re: Question about Dynabeads...

Why can't you re-use the dyna-beads? Is there any way to re-claim them while changing the tire and put them in the new tire as a part of the changing process?

Re: Annual Hungry Mother Weekend (Virginia)

Boxer said This whole tooth ache business may be ruining my whole riding plans for the weekend. Come on Phil - are you going to let a simple thing like a root canal (and the likely crown you will also need) get in the way of riding? Seriously, I hope that you are able to get things fixed in time fo...

Re: Annual Hungry Mother Weekend (Virginia)

Extended forecast does not look good. I won't be attending if it'll be a drip-fest. You can never trust an extended forecast beyond four days. This is looking better: Friday: Isolated showers and thunderstorms after noon. Partly cloudy, with a high near 88. Light east wind. Chance of precipitation ...

Re: Annual Hungry Mother Weekend (Virginia)

Whomever arrives first Thu or Friday morning.... stop in the Park HQ and get the "Waters" tickets. I seem to remember they DO NOT post them for us. Shouldn't the first person be a "walk-up" and grab the open campsite? Second person has the duty of posting the "already claim...

Re: Newbie here and to 1150R

My '04 had one issue related to the ABS, which was no servo assist. That made me realize just how heavy that bike is! My issue turned out to be a mis-adjusted brake switch in the front brake lever/control housing. Basically, the system thought my brakes were always on so they never initializ...

Re: Question about Tire Balancing

I think for the most accurate balance, I usually balance the wheel as close to how it's going to be on the bike - valve stem cap too! I'd put the discs back on - they have to go back on anyway and you don't know their state of balance.

Re: To those striving for more and more hp...

I think it's pretty well known that the BMW boxer (mainly oil head) is a reliable engine, but due to it's inherant design, it's not going to make gobs of power. Sure, you can get some little gains, but like Airforcedirt says - buy a different bike. Boxermania had done a lots of mods to his R1150R an...

Re: Annual Hungry Mother Weekend (Virginia)

I'm paid up and getting prepared to show up sometime Friday afternoon. I've invited a few buddies from work and it sounds like one of them is going to come but we'll see. Now, onto updating my GPS/iPod. Oh, I need to change my rear tire too. Plus repair the ground for my GPS. So much to do, and the ...

Exactly what ABS problems? Only problems in general, or is there something specific?

My '04 w/ABS hasn't had any ABS problems and I just turned over 85,000 miles.

Re: ME Z4 and Z6 Roadtec/Interact

I lost traction a couple of times with the last standard Z6 I had up front, which is when I went to the Dunlop Roadsmart. The Roadsmart offered lots of grip but typical Dunlop cupping; decent mileage but not as many as I got with the Z6. So far I like the grip the Z6 Interact is giving me; and yes, ...

Re: Braking STX Brake Rotors

I've been tempted to change rotors on my RR to the tune of improving braking performance, but every time I get in a jam and really USE those monstrous brakes, I change my mind and save the money for other things...like gas and bullets. One thing I WILL be doing in the future is putting wave-rotors ...

Re: ME Z4 and Z6 Roadtec/Interact

I just put a Z6 interact on the front about a month ago - so far I like it. I've been through many tires but never the PR2; I was about to order them and thought I would try the Z6 dual compound. I'll let you know how it works out.

OK - I'm in and will take an open tent site or be glad to split/share a site with anyone else (be forewarned - I snore).

I've missed a few years so this will be a nice return to meet old friends and make some new ones.

If I'm listening to music, then Etymotic ER-6i ear buds. Otherwise, just a pair of the plain foam disposable plugs work great!

Re: 30 Days to Bash 7 - Harriman, TN May 13-16

I so want to make it to this event this year, but May seems to be a tough month for me. As we know, there's mother's day. Then my anniversary, and to top it off, my wife's birthday!!! What was I thinking?

I may still try to make it - does anyone have a room they want to share?

Re: Boots - BMW Allround vs Sidi Fusion vs Alpinestars Web Gore-

I've had the Alpinestar Web-goretex boots, and now am using the TCX X-five gore-tex boots. The AS web-gore-tex boots were great and very waterproof (until they wore out). They took a little while to "break-in", but otherwise a good boot. Never had any issues with them other than wearing th...

Re: Speedo light going.

It could be a loose wire. I recently had one of my tach bulbs burn out so I decided to change all gauge bulbs, and went with LEDs - it gives the dash a newer look. Anyway, when I removed the back of the gauge cover, I noticed the wire going to the clock bulb had broken off and was no longer connecte...
