I think for the most accurate balance, I usually balance the wheel as close to how it's going to be on the bike - valve stem cap too! I'd put the discs back on - they have to go back on anyway and you don't know their state of balance.

My '04 w/ABS hasn't had any ABS problems and I just turned over 85,000 miles.

I just put a Z6 interact on the front about a month ago - so far I like it. I've been through many tires but never the PR2; I was about to order them and thought I would try the Z6 dual compound. I'll let you know how it works out.
