Re: Shock Absorber Rebuild
Instead of rebuilding that old thing (rear or front), you might also take a look at WIlbers or Hyperpro options for our bikes. Wilbers https://www.wilbers-shop.de/index.php?cl=alist&cnid=5223dcebed75ab97114d84d125372505&manufacturer=l7717b4b922c536678ce9edd6482405c&year=2002&catname=...

Why do we love riding a bike?
Reading all the problems we have with our bikes. I'm just wondering why do I love riding a bike? More often than not it's too cold, too hot and dry, it's raining, it's getting dark, your ass starts to hurt, your legs get cramped, your shoulders start to hurt, your hands start to tingle. And every ti...

Re: Access to battery terminals? USB outlet wiring & mounting.
I use a ram mount for my Garmin. http://i66.tinypic.com/2chvzwl.jpg From the Garmin it goes down under the fuel tank over the oil cooler lines and then back to the seat. The cable is a bit long, so I fold to the right length under the seat. http://i65.tinypic.com/nmyw60.jpg This is where it goes dow...

Re: Access to battery terminals? USB outlet wiring & mounting.
I could do that. I'm looking to use GPS on a handlebar mount and would prefer the cleaner look of something wired internally. That way would leave the plug by the starter free for use when the bike is sitting still. You can use the power plug by the starter on the left side for your USB / GPS. Use ...

Re: Oil on the exhaust cannister
Did you check the oil level. Not too much oil? Too much has to go somewhere. Easiest way out is from the sump to the airfilter. Open up the airfilter, take out the filter and check how much oil is at the bottom of the housing. When the oil gets really hot ("a vigorous 75 mile ride, Sunday after...

Hey Barista, it's a Bagster seat and I like it, better than the original BMW seat.

Re: Will a luggage rack for R1150RT fit on my R1150R ?
So am I correct to assume that I'd also need the left & right side-rails, (case mounts), to attach a BMW rear rack? If you decide to use another topcase and rack instead, you still need the left and right panniers mounts. I bought a givi Givi SR683 topcase rack like this (not my bike) https://w...
