Re: New 2002 R1150R........Wondering what I've done
Born in Kansas. John How about that! Me too! Salina. But I lived in Topeka and a few other cities in Kansas before coming to Texas. The tornados of Kansas keep me from wanting to ever live there again! (Go Jayhawks!) Welcome to the BMW RR group here. You are going to love your new bike! I've had 5 ...

Re: 200 Days to Tennessee Bash
950 miles for me, but it's tradition for me to say I'm going to try to make it this year and then not show up. So in keeping with that tradition...........
Wow - looks like a great time and some great roads around that area. I'm going to try to make it this year for sure.

Sweet! The maple looks good. Semi-hollow with dual humbuckers! I bet it sounds great.

I had one similar to that once. Mine was sort of a Univ of Texas burnt orange color. It kept leaving scratches on the seat though, so I've had to stop using it.

Ah - I found the original post from 2006. It is here: http://www.r1150r.org/board/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=8311&p=76157&hilit=Tourenfahrer#p76157 and I found this post referencing other articles from the past about the R1150R. http://www.r1150r.org/board/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=13582&hili...

Why I Ride An R1150R
Someone asked me recently about my '05 R1150R and wanted to know if I have any regrets and if I would buy one again knowing what I know about it. In formulating my answer, I dug up this article that I had copied a couple of years ago from this site and attached it to the end of my email reply to him...

Re: Travels with Stella! In Appalachia
Is that tunnel the same as "the World's shortest tunnel"? I rode through one that looked similar to that back in August when I was in the VA/TN/NC area, but could not tell you exactly on which road I was traveling. http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i252/snapshot1219/Falling%20Leaves%20Ride...

Re: Travels with Stella! In Appalachia
Sweeeeeet!! I've wanted to do a fall color tour again since my last short chance in 2006. I keep missing the right dates though. It looks like you hit it right on the right dates (except for the rain and cold weather). The photos are beautiful. Sounds like a whirlwind trip. Wouldn't you just love to...

Re: Lost in NH
Oh - you two are still traveling? Looks cold!!! I just finished a ride in 90 degrees at 8:30 pm tonight. I've never been that far northeast in the US.. It looks wonderful. More photos if you can. I understand how hard it is to post a RR while you are riding, and afterwards, for that matter. Thanks. ...

Re: Should I get an R1150R or a R1200GSA
I owned both an '05 R1150R and an '07 R1200GS (not GSA) this past year. I added the R1200GS in July of '08, thinking that it might be a good compromise between the R1150R and the DR650 that I had, and intended to sell the 1150 and the 650 once I got it. But it wasn't everything I wanted it to be. So...
