I have mine mounted under the coolers using the forward cooler cover screw which I replaced with about a 2" screw and nylock nut. I am very happy with the result. Gives me great night vision and daytime visibility (I am not sure which is the bigger benefit). Additionally, they are hidden there...

Wow , The BMW R bikes are set up European riding style, with your feet under your ass. Maybe you should change machines to a more cruiser type like HD or a CL model BMW so you feet are more forward.
