Re: R1200R Self-Import
Currently, there isn’t any R1200R in Singapore & dealer not going to import until someone like me wanted it, but it will cost me about S$37,000 or S$38,000 dollar (May be around US$24,800) I bought a 2nd hand R1150R in the year 2003 – (1 ½ years old bike) for around S$21,500 (A...

I just tried a Radio Shack isolator. It did nothing to help my Streetpilot 2820's hum. I've talked to Garmin about it with no help. I even went into the Garmin store, they couldn't help either. I get the same noise no matter what power source, in the house or on the bike. They said it was common an...

Re: BMW tall screen
I have the BMW tall (it's not verytall really) screen and I can cruise at 90-100 without being uncomfortable. All day might be a bit much but an hour is ok. I'm only 5ft6ins and had the low seat option. I have started wearing earplugs which I didn't on my VFR800 as there is a bit more wind noise. I...

I've been crusing around with the sport windshield and love it. I didn't take note as to where the hitting me, just enjoying the open air. I don't get any buffetting and don't feel as though I'm being knocked around. I do wear a full face helmet though. That was my point when I mentioned how tall I...

BMW Sport shield vs Taller BMW shield
I now have both, and can comment on both, from the point of view of a 5'7" rider with a 28" (tall-day) inseam, low-seat option. The inseam gives some idea of chest-head-height in the seat. Just giving your overall height doesn't do this. Sport shield - provides wind deflection to about upp...

Don, Thanks for the tip about the horn from an RT. I thought the horn on my 04 RT was adequate, certainly louder than the current RR unit. What's appealing is there is no need to install a realy. Correct? If so, this is an attractive option. Thanks! Bill Correct - but the RT I got these off had two...

Back to horns.. I found one off an '02 R1150RT would fit where the stock one goes - and has the connector so it plugs right in. It is a horn type horn (Bosch) - and a bit more directional and louder. I put it with the opening facing forwards and at the bottom (so water that blows into it will drain....

Sorry.. nevermind
Richard,
Sorry if you took offense.. but re-read what you made the title of the thread, and you'll understand what I pointed out. I never doubted that an Ironbutter might not know it's an oil cooled twin - but though you might have mistyped.

Fuel line disconnects?
Anyone who has had the tank off - how are the fuel lines connected? Does the Roadster use the fuel-line disconnects that the R1150 series did?
TIA!
TIA!

I'll agree the RAM mount offers a lot of flexibility.. but IMHO - it has the fllowing flaws.. It isn't elegant. The design, while very functional, has a rather crude appearance that doesn't go with the very elegant design of the Roadster It has very limited security. If someone wants the GPS - all t...

I mounted the GS mounting on the Roadster. Had to file the holes on one end into slots so the rubber mounts will line up with the handbar clamp mounts. I'm using a Garmin 2720.. Problem with it is - if I put it facing one direction, it's far enough forward, but blocks my view of the instrument clust...

Re: GPS Power Source
OK, answered my own question. The factory GPS power plug is indeed there. Pulled the tank and found it tie wrapped to a frame member roughly behind the horn. Used repair connector 83300413585 and wired up the GPS just like factory. Very neat. Small victory. Has anyone gotten this connector recently...

Folks.. Hopefully Saturday I'll be the new owner of a brandy new R1200R.. first new bike I've bought since my 1975 Norton Commando Mk-III.. A friend who owned a GS had a spare GPS mount for the Navigator-II - and offered it to me when I admired the one currently on his bike. It appears to be an exac...
