bleeding clutch

Post by Optimus Prime »

I plan on getting a mityvac for bleeding the brakes and wonder if I could use it for the clutch? IIRC, this may cause a problem.

TIA

No problems using the vac, you may need to buy the nipple for the clutch reservoir if your bike doesn't currently have one. I don't have the part number on me.

Part Number

At the dealer they call it a "clutch bleeder" nipple.

Part number 34212330310

You must remove the plastic tubular thing around the end of the clutch hose (right side rear of bike up under the right passenger foot rest). Screw this nipple in and then use it as you do the brake nipples with the Mity VAc or other bleeding device.

Just tell the parts people you want the nipple that screws into the end of the clutch hose - used to bleed - if in doubt that you are getting the right one go back into the service area and ask a mechanic to explain to the parts desk what you want - the mechanics will use this nipple and simply leave it on your bike if they do the procedure.
