I've been experiencing pretty severe transmission grinding and slippage in 5th gear on my '06 k1200r - at 20,000 miles. Just took the bike out of winter storage and the slippage and grinding happened pretty quickly and habitually.
I changed the oil today and on the magnetic plug, I've found some pretty large metal shreds - about 1/2 the size of the dried red peppers I add to pizza.
I assume this is not good news, does anyone have any similar experience. Any advice? Will draining & replacing the transmission fluid help?
