...was polishing the turd today, and was having second thoughts. Damn bike is cool even if it's as long as a freight train. Fired 'er up, oh yeah!
...might decide to keep it afterall...besides, I've regretted selling every bike I've ever owned. Perhaps the way to go is to make this my sport tourer, add that slightly larger Secdem screen, some bags, and buy another bike that's more agile to compliment the KR. Can't really ride the way I used to anyhow, now that I'm up North again. Besides, the conditions and roads suck around here (Seattle) from what I can tell.
I added a bellypan, have yet to install the CF handgurds. If I continue to have these wavering feelings, I just might add that PowerCup CF rear section, paint it dark graphite or black, and make or buy a nicely machined muffler hanger...

Rivi,
Thats one sweet looking bike. Why not keep it another 6 months at least (to get it out of your system if nothing else), as I'd bet youv'e already taken the big $$ hit your going to on depreciation.
I was really hyped about getting a KR a few months ago, but have decided I think I'll maybe be sticking with boxers for the time being. I think it'd help me keep my license.

In the event you do ever decide to sell said "turd", myself and I am sure countless others would be interested in it. I am in the Seattle area and I am interested.

It's a shame, but did you have a particularly bad experience with the bike to make you want to move on? I would imagine the Pacific Northwest would afford you all kinds of fantastic rides, but then again the cold wet days can be a spoiler (I lived in SF for a few years so I know how depressing they can get). I sometimes feel the K12R is too much bike and possibly not best suited for where I am, but then I go out and get in a good day of riding and all's good! Would sure like to hear your thoughts though...rivi777 wrote:I had it advertised with numerous sources in the Seattle area for about a month. Only received insults...

So...what did you get? Inquiring minds want to know, especially those of us interested in the KR.rivi777 wrote:I had it advertised with numerous sources in the Seattle area for about a month. Only received insults...

Rivi, great choice! Moved over to the R12GS about a year ago and have never looked back! If you ever get the chance to get away, the BMW Off- Road Training at Hechlingen, Germany is a fantastic way to spend 3 days getting acquainted with the GS!! Tiring, but loads of fun! I picked up the K1200R about 6 months ago and though its an awesome ride, it's really a beast of a completely different nature, so I know your feelings about it. Pretty much explains why I haven't sold the GS yet (as originally planned)! Didn't take much to justify keeping the GS with the missus after I rode 2-up with her on the K12R Whew.
