OK, I don't know how I figured this out, but I am so happy to have learned how to paste a photo, I threw in an action photo out on "Smuggler's Run" somewhere near the US/Mexico border.

Bought mine recently long distance, via eBay. Took a bit of a risk on it but after some mods and cleaning it up it turned out alright. Had a lot of other bikes but this is my first boxer and I'm totally getting why some folks are fanatics for this engine!

One more pic I took while out riding today. Telelever is so stable in the corners it's spooky, especially with the PR4s I just mounted.

2002 with 37K+ cat delete, two shields (tall for sale), custom oil cap and rear diff filler, fancy moto purse that won't scratch the pretty blue tank, stock and corbin heated seat, led driving lights, blinky led brake light add ons, has bmw hard cases, upgraded from piaa to osram silverstar (less money huge improvement, she lights up the night) throttlemeister, going to add one inch rise and back adapter today.

she remains unamed, i like to take their parts off and become more intimate before attaching a handle, so perhaps by the 40K service....... :smt049 :smt115

Referencing another recent post - was able to go out on a couple hundred mile ride yesterday on some state highways and side roads, and pretty sure I fell in love. The thrill of cruising down the highway, wind whipping, sun gleaming, the boxer smoothly fires below, as you observe new terrain is a pretty incredible feeling.

Some pics from this weekends adventures:

Are those 'grills' over the oil coolers ? or just reflection ? They look different 'nicer' than mine.

New here, I've noticed some questions about front fender. Let's face it, it is not the prettiest thing attached to that gorgeous bike. My solution is cheap and demands just a little of creativity. From which bike is this fender? Almost every front fender for 120 70/17 tire will do...

Hi gang,

Just picked up a new to me 04 R1150R in Tucson (here for the winter, summers in Maine). It had 15,571 miles on it and has obviously been well cared for. It has some nice options like Parabellum Scout fairing with sport and a tall windshield included, Stiebel type horn, DRL LED lights, hyperlites, Givi trunk, Sargeant seat for both driver & passenger, and hand grip shields. This is my 8th BMW and 4th oilhead. The service book shows 4 BMW services including the 12K, but the 12K was in 2007, so very little mileage in last 10+ years. So going through everything before I ride it too much... valves were off a bit and syncing TB's, lube spline. Had on 04 GSA and forgot how touchy these brakes were! Going to flush due to age even though it's very clear. Also performing a "charcoal canister-ectomy". Doesn't look like an awful lot of traffic on here as these bikes age, but hope there are a few still reading to ask questions etc...

It does have a broken latch on right bag so I need to find a cheap inner bag or multifunction box to replace it, but drilled a pin with cotter pin through the mount to hold it there for now. If you know of a good deal on a system case (inner or complete), let me know.

Here's a pic:

Thx. They came with the bike and at first I thought I wouldn't keep them instead thinking that I might try to find some hard bags and maybe a top case. That's proven a little difficult as I also need the rails and those alone are in the $200 vicinity which is more than these bags cost new, and used hard bags have been hard to find. So, in the meantime these will do. They're Cortech, go on and off easily and hold a fair amount, have waterproof covers and the longer I live with them the more I like the look.
