Spline shaft lubrication time

Post by bransan »

I am at 75,000mi on My 04 R1150R.
I have been religious about maintenance with this bike.
I'm not sure i could love another machine as much as this one.
I need to replace the swing arm bearings because they are worn and I have it apart to do the spline shaft lube.
Several years ago I read about some bushings to replace the bearings, does anyone remember who had them?

I put a set on my R1100R over a year ago and they seem to be working fine.

I'd recommend you do a little research about the bushing replacements for the swing arm bearings. There have been some problems with the ones from rubber chicken garage (sorry I can't remember the particulars), but I was considering them and waited a few years to see if they were working and read some posts (on this forum I think) that dissuaded me. I'll go back to the original bearings when I need to (soon). Search is your friend.

my bronze ones are deformed on one side. so not worth the money i am guessing.

there were in there when i bought the bike, and i just rotated to the smooth portion and reinstalled. if they start wiggling, i am gonna try the nushings

Different setup than the Rubber Chicken versions.
