Help with Caliper Part

Post by Tundra Dweller »

I was replacing the rear brake pads with EBC HH pads. When I pulled the stock pads this Silver metal Tab fell out.
Is this where it goes before installing the pads?

Yes. The arrow (triangle) should point toward the front when the caliper is installed.

Thank you! I assumed it is a spring plate to keep the pads from rattling providing pressure against the keeper pin.
I pushed the pistons out a bit, sprayed everything off with brake cleaner, pushed them back in and installed the EBC's.
Experiencing some heat from brake drag and wanted to be sure it wasn't the spring plate causing it.
Will need to work on this.....
