Yes. You care what year ABS things are for wheels and sometimes rotor size. If your R1150R has the stamped steel ring and the R1150GS does, looking good. IF the R1150R has 320mm rotor and the GS has the same, you're in business...good luck...

No you can't. Not without a range of modifications. I know because I have done it,

1 - GS and R wheels are different diameters. This will mean changes to you front guard and it will mess with your speedo.
2 - If you are using the spoked GS hub it does NOT mount exactly the same as the R1150 front hub. Many parts are the same but one is not. The GS uses a metal spacing collar to address the different width of the R and GS hub. The fir the wheel this spacer needs to be machined.
3 - The rear hub is wider. You will need to use different length wheel bolts.

This IS NOT a trivial task. I used GS spoked hubs and custom rims to replicate the normal R series wheel diameters. This cost me a packet and the job is still not complete. If you want to do it, go in with your eyes wide open and cross check every part number against the BMW parts fiche.

Sorry if this seems negative but my experience caused me a lot of trouble and still remains unresolved.

I stand corrected, I was thinking the GS wheels were both cast 17" wheels which is not the majority of GS wheels so my advice only holds if the GS wheels are both 17", my apologies...

IIRC the GS always used 19" front (maybe 21" for the Adv?) and as Soliton says, the rear hub is different. I've seen people put 17" wheels on GSs, (don't know the details), but Soliton is the only person I know who's gone the other way.
