Wire Harness Sheathing

The wires from the handle bar / triple tree /master cylinder area to under the gas tank had black material sheathing. Over the years this has rotted and cracked. I live in PA and bike lives in a cold garage in the winter. Anybody have recommendations to replace this covering?

On a side note, I went to bleed clutch today and stripped the Allen head on the bleed valve. I must have tightened it too much last time. So I ended up ordering BRA41650 from MotorWorks in the UK .
Thanks .

Try "CableTiesAndMore.com" self wrapping sleeving. Available by the foot & nice too.
Speedbleeder.com for the clutch. part # SB1010S That's if your replacing the grub screw at the right rear under the seat area.

^ I used the same material and the 'split' feature made putting it on simple.

I've used 3 different things depending on the circumstance/situation, here they are in order of preference/protection: 1) friction tape (requires you to have harnessing/pigtails out to wrap), 2) split convoluted plastic sheathing in different sizes with ty-wraps and 3) spiral cut sheathing...best of luck...

I used 'Self Amalgamating Tape' (cut it so you have narrow strips - it will seal to units such as the headlight orifice and is good for 'T' Junctions in the wire.) ............... and split convoluted tube over the tape for appearance as I was not going to disconnect anything!
New zip ties where necessary but not tightened by a gorilla.

I was lucky, my local Bmw dealer recovered the wire harness for free. Goodtimes BMW in Alcoa Tn
