Bevel box to swingarm bearing upgrade kit ???

Post by Soliton »

Has anyone ever seen, heard or used these doodads?

Time to replace my bevel box pivot bearings. I went to Motorworks UK to buy the bits and when I put in the BMW part number into the search box - 33172311091

Up pops this thing "Bevel box to swingarm bearing upgrade kit"

Bearings I understand, this looks like kind of greasable bushing of some kind. Has anyone ever installed them?

I put the URL at the bottom. I'll stump up the cash but I don't want to install some horror tale that causes issues later on.

The instructions certainly "sound" simple.

I have to say - on Rock3 I don't think I ever greased the bearings, and only had them nipped up once (iirc), in over 10 years and 120,000+ miles.

Been down this road several times, I put my replacement bearings or bushings in the same way nushing.com showed (i.e. all thread, nuts, washers and select sockets), both bearing and bushing work, bushing looks tougher and mine still good, I use moly paste on them, I DID NEED to do some lathe sanding to fit the bushing properly, I used the bushing from Rubber Chicken Racing (Tom Cutter), best of luck...
